Sennelier Artist Oil Colours...As impressionism was dawning Sennelier art materials were born.The breakthrough in color accomplished by Cezanne Bonnard Pissaro Picasso and Kandinsky came from a palette of colors created by Gustave Sennelier. Sennelier oil paints are still made from the finest ground pigments combined with pure first press non-yellowing safflower oil. Certain sensitive pigments are ground with custom oils on traditional granite rollers. The result is an outstanding collection of lumninous and vivid oil paints with a smooth buttery feel. Several colors are unique to the Sennelier such as transparent Sennelier Brown and Chinese Orange along with a wide range of semi-opaque Mars colors transparent alizarins and the unusual Cinnibar and Cobalt Greens. Sennelier''s range of Artists'' Oil Paint is an outstanding collection of 108 luminous and vivid oil colors with a smooth buttery feel and the addition of special drying agents make them perfect for Plein Air painting. Most colors are available in 34ml tubes a few toxic colors which contain lead like flake white are packaged in jars.
