Product Description

This robust climber has large, purple-veined leaflets and 1-inch flowers of pinkish-purple and white. Long spikes of blooms stand out from the foliage and then give way to clusters of maroon, 3 inch long seedpods. All parts of plant are edible. Blooms summer to fall.

After all danger of frost, sow in open ground well exposed. Cover with 1 1/2 inches of warm soil. When plants are 3 inches tall, thin. Seedlings do not transplant well.

Train on fence or trellis. Excellent for quick cover. Nutritious and flavorful as snap bean or shelled bean. Performs best if watered and weeded all season.
