Do not bother

Reviewer:  SusieQsie  See all my reviews

This thing is terrible. I have no idea where they get their 5 seconds from... There is no reading after 5 seconds ever. And lately, I get NO reading. I hold it under my son's arm for what feels like forever and it just says "On" and then the readout goes blank. So, instead of an inaccurate reading I get NO reading at all. Ugh.

Worthless and frustrating

Reviewer:  BeachBabyMom "Mardy B"  (On the beach in SC)  See all my reviews

Very difficult to use and like the other person said, it was off by a significant amount every time I tried it. I used it on myself a couple times to get a base reading and I'm either frozen (at 94.3 or burning up at 102.4) and those readings were taken within minutes, following the directions to the letter. I know my daughter is warm but have now idea right now what her temp is. We're running out at 9:00 p.m. to buy a new one from a 24 hour pharmacy right now because this thing doesn't work.

Inconsistent

Reviewer:  Don Kitchen "Don K"  (Maryland)  See all my reviews

It works quickly, but it's inaccurate. Within a 5 minute timespan, I'll get 5 different readings, varying by several degrees. That's a big deal when you're trying to see if your baby has a fever or not. I'm in the market for a different thermometer now.

this thing stinks!

I bought one of these and not only do they take longer than they say they do but they are also really complecated. They also break really easily. I recomend the flexable vicks one at the store I have had that for 2 years and it is extremely accurate, quick, and sturdy.

piece of garbage

Reviewer:  Jennifer Lamb  (Hinesville, GA)  See all my reviews

Real Name

This item is a piece of garbage. I've had it for a few weeks and it just doesn't work. My 8 day old daughter got a trip to the emergency room because of a very high fever that this thermometer said she had. When we were sent home with a healthy child (plus a few injections of antibiotics) we tested the thermometer and discovered that I have a fever of 102 and a minute later I'm only 96. Inconsistency tends not be something I'd look for in a product to test the health of my child.

good thermometer

Reviewer:  Kate  (Fort Polk)  See all my reviews

It has a quick readout - though if taking the temperature under the armpit, it does take 30 seconds (as listed on package - so this isn't a surprise) but the oral and rectal settings are super fast! My 1 year old got ahold of this and chewed up the end of it, and it still worked well, so it's also very durable.

the terrible thing!

Reviewer:  Disappointed man "disappointed man"  (MA)  See all my reviews

It is the worst thermoneter I have used. I used the same style before and I trust that. However this one made me disappointed. If I am lucky, it will get result in more than 30 second. In most times, it doen't work at all.
