Nice product

Reviewer:  Mysterio  (CA)  See all my reviews

Oregon 500 has a sensor for outdoor temperature and humidity. If you buy Oregon 300, you need to buy another one in order to check outdoor humidity.

The weather forecast is not so accurate but I've never seen an accurate prediction.

The atomic clock may need up to 24 hours to synchronize.
For DST, you may need to check the manual to synchronize the clock.

Pretty Good for the Price

Reviewer:  Mr. Shopper  (Duluth, MN United States)  See all my reviews

Never having owned a weather station before, I don't have much to compare it to. Everything seems to read accurately, the only iffy thing is the prediction but it does give a nice estimate. Looking outside seems to be working also. :)
The battery life is fine, I'm using alkalines for both inside and out. The instructions mentiong switching the outside sensor to Lithium when the temp drops below freezing, so we'll see how long it lasts. I do wish there were more sensing units included, or an easy place to find more sensing units.
Final thoughs: Neat intro weather station. Next step; the $300+ models!

Good, but not great

Reviewer:  Pa Hiker "Life should be attacked full force, and exited with as little as possible left, screaming Wow, what a ride!"  (Plum, Pa USA)  See all my reviews

The temperature is very accurate, as is the humidity; prediction is only so-so. I use rechargeable batteries (Energizer NiMh) and the main unit lasts about a week, a month for the remote sensor.

The biggest problems that I have are: 1) No way to wall-mount; 2) Too much glare on the screen to read at most angles; 3) Backlight is orange and is more a light than a backlight, it really doesn't help in reading the display.
