I've had my HB coffee grinder for about 2 years. It's done a great job for me except lately I'm finding that the grinder vibrates the top/cap loose, which makes the motor stop until I lock the top again. I just make sure I keep the rim and blade areas clean of coffee grounds. Fresh coffee beans are oily and it's easy to get build up around the rim. Otherwise, this grinder has lasted longer than any other I've owned. Would recommend.

The reviewer who reports a fragile grinder must have received a defective model. Mine couldn't be more sturdy---and I do NOT baby it.
That said, what sets this grinder apart from virtually all others is that you do NOT have to hold the button down while it's grinding. AND it grinds to your exact specifications.
Having owned a Braun which...1) Forced me to hold-down the button, 2) Was much louder, 3) Was not as durable, and 4) Was much more expensive...I will never go back to the hold-it-yourself model.
My first auto-set grinder was a GE, but it was louder and (believe it or not) didn't grind coffee as tasty as the Hamilton Beach. YES, a grinder apparently can have a huge impact on flavor.
Again, sorry to the reviewer with the broken model, but this one's great. And by the way, I've had it for months now.

I'm sorry the other customers got bad units. Or maybe I just got lucky. I've had my grinder for over a year. Use it daily. Given my experience I would purchase another like it. Because I purchased it more than a year ago, the actual manufacturer may have changed.

I was quite happy with this product, until the motor inexplicably stopped working after only a few months of use. Seems someone else has also had this problem!

I bought this item because it originally received 5 stars. I was very disappointed. The blade motor broke only after 3 weeks, and we don't even use it that much. I had to return it, and bought a different one.

Grinds well, one touch button is a bonus (don't have to hold it down) easy to clean

It is a great little grinder if only the plastic top will hold up. It developed cracks a few weeks into purchasing and finally starting breaking into pieces. I had to get rid of it because of that even though the motor was still working great. Well, I guess you get what you paid for. If the manufacturer made the container and top in metal or some material more sturdy, this would be a great buy.

I grind fresh beans just about everyday, the first time I used this I was so impressed I went right to the computer to write this review. I used to have to fiddle with my previous grinder, holding down the botton, flipping it upside down and gently shaking it while it was grinding to get all the beans ground, and even then it wasn't 100%. With this little unit I just set the settings, pressed the button, and was amazed as the beans turned to fine grains in just a few seconds. And it's relatively quiet too! A big plus when my wife is sleeping and I'm grinding beans. I highly recommend this unit, I hope it lasts for years.

I've had this little guy for considerably more than 3 months - a year, in fact, and it's done everything I've asked of it. I use the coarse setting on mine, since I have a small Bodum Brazil press. The features that are worth their weight in gold are the cord storage and the automatic shut-off. I used to have an old Braums that had a cord I wanted to cut in half, it was so annoying to try and wrap the cord around it. No such problem for Hamilton Beach - I pull up on the unit to create space, wrap, put the plug end into a little not, and collapse. Works great, and helps me save energy by not leaving things plugged in all the time. The only reason to upgrade to the 80375, also sold by Target, is to take advantage of the slightly less top-heavy design. I consider this a good buy for someone who uses this just for coffee and only makes small batches at a time.

This is a great appliance. I had bought one for myself over a year ago. I use it everyday and it works better than I had expected. It grinds the coffee beans to my specifications, is easy to clean up. And does everything that it is expected to. I am so happy with mine that I bought one for my parents six months ago who never ground coffee beans before. They now use theirs everyday thanks to the ease of use and the performance. I just bought one to send to a friend who is in the military that liked the grinder, and one for the office where I work. The appearance is complimentary to kitchens, it's simple to use, the beans are ground to specification, and the clean up is easy. I would recommend this machine to everyone.
