I bought this unit over a year ago. I live in an old, drafty house and while it didn't do much of anything in the open part of the house (living/kitchen/dining) it did GREAT in the bedroom! If I turned it on about an hour before bedtime and closed the door, things were nice and toasty bed time.

I don' know about the electric bill comments. Although, now that I recall, last year's winter electric bill was a bit per month for a 1300sf house when I was using this unit daily. I just thought it was because of holiday lights and the fact my hvac was on all the time trying to keep up. Who knows?

This heater worked great that is until we got our PG&E bill. We ran it whenever we were home. It put off alot of heat but ran up our bill tremendously. It would be great for occasional use only.

I bought this product yesterday after much debating, turns out i wasted my time. when i first put it on it smelled bad for about 2 hours and there was little heat coming off it. i didnt think much of it at first being realistic that it takes time to heat up. after about 6 hours i had to check and see if it was even on, quiet yes ,, effective NO. there was only a distance of 8 inches of warm air that came from it(rising air only). also just to clarify the room it was supposed to heat was only 15/15, so its pretty much useless unless your heating your coat closet.

This has worked well for a small bedroom. It is indeed very quiet -- though there is a slightly annoying "click" when the thermostat turns on after the temperature has dropped. The unit did indeed smell a bit during the first couple uses, but as the other reviewer noted, it then goes away. Occasional "click" aside (which really isn't a big deal), I'd recommend this for people looking to heat up a smallish space (say, maybe no bigger than 20 x 20) -- I tried using it in our finished bedroom (which is about 15 x 30) and it wasn't quite up to the task, at least while in silent mode (there's also a fan-supported "quick heat" mode).

We tried using our fan-forced heater in our bedroom, but found it to be far too loud. This Honeywell heater is silent – let us us have a good night sleep. It does smell bad the first time you use it, but it went away after one or two uses. It does not have the most accurate temperature sensor so it turns on and shuts off too late or too quickly sometimes. Wish it let you set the temperature instead of just a dial from low to high. It also takes a little while to heat up the room, but once it gets there, it’s toasty. Overall, I like the heater.

returned the heater coz the fan was busted when we tried it. I had second thought of getting a replacement, but still did. So far its ok. It is silent (would only hear smooth, little noise when the fan is on, but overall - the heater is ok). Its no joke buying a heater [at this price] so I just hope the fan wont go kaput, otherwise, this will go back to target again.

bought the unit today and when we tried it at home, the fan is already busted. I will definitely bring it back at Target tomorrow. Now am having second thought whether to get another/same unit or a different one.

I bought this heater on Saturday and after a few hours of use (less than 15mins using the quick heat fan feature) it blew the electricity in half of my apartment! Not only that, but I did not find it very powerful. It is definitely only suited to very small rooms. The only benefit I can think of is that it operates quietly. So if you sleep in a very small room and value your silence, this is for you. Other than that, go for a forced air heater. And keep your electrician's number handy

This product is a pleasure to have. I purchased this heater for my mother's bedroom because there was not a baseboard heater in her room. It would get very cold in there. This heater heats her room, the washroom outside her room and the stairs leading to her room. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it for anyone.
