I am currently in the market to buy a new humidifier. I have had this one for a couple of years now. I find that on the high setting it is quite loud. I also find that I have to frequently change the filters which cost about $10 a pop. When I go to look for one, I would like one that is smaller, easier to clean, has a better filter system and is whisper quiet.

My husband and I purchased this humidifier for our master bedroom and made a dramatic difference in one night. THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY NOT TO PUT THE HUMIDIFIER DIRECTLY ON WOOD OR ANY SURFACE THAT WATER WOULD HURT...it is a humidifier after all...we LOVE it none the less. The noise on the 2nd level is actually very soothing and has helped us sleep better too. The third setting is loud, but oh well....who needs it on high anyway....the second setting is perfect!!! I highly recommend this product!

This humidifier seems like it does more harm than good. After about 6 months, it started to leak, which leaves standing water. The water becomes very dirty-this is the water that creates the mist. If you buy this, be prepared to frequently spend money on filters because they go bad quickly too. We are going to throw this one out and get a new one. We also purchased a warm-mist humidifier for our room with the same result. We will not purchase a Vicks product again.

We bought this unit almost 2 yrs ago for my son's room. It's never leaked and works great. The highest setting is a bit loud so we use the middle setting. It also filters out noise from other rooms. The unit holds plenty of water without being too big for the room. We need another one so I'm buying another unit today.

We bought this when our daughter had a really bad cold, it is LOUD! If you have it on the very first setting it is fine, but then barely any air blows out. If you have it on the high setting it sounds like a jet engine! It would keep her awake or wake her up if it was on high. It is VERY hard and cumbersome to fill. It doesn't fit under most sinks, we had to fill it in the bathtub but since there is a dial on the bottom it doesn't sit straight so you have to hold it in your hand...and as it fills with water it gets VERY heavy and awkward to hold. You have to replace the filters more often then I would think you should have to and they mold really fast. Also, once you have the water in the humidifier you cannot move it because it drains the water into the bottom of the unit and if you try to move it then all the water starts to spill out. Plus, after it has been running it bubbles and "glugs" as it empties more water into the unit. It sounds like someone chugging really loudly. (It even does this when the unit is off.) It scares you when you hear a giant "glug, glug, glug" in the middle of the night. It will literally wake you from sleep. Overall, I am totally dis-satisfied with this product, I would recommend it to no one, ever...and I hope to find a new, better one soon!

Don't waste your money on this humidifier. I bought it yesterday and will be returning it today. It leaked all over my hardwood floor.

this is so loud.. the high setting sounds like a plane is about to take off.. it didnt seem to really make a differene either.. taking this back to the store

I purchased this without reviewing any because we needed it at the last minute. The filter turned slightly yellow after only 2 nights and they say to replace it when that happens. I used it for my daughter so I am not sure how much humidity it actually produces. It is very noisy.

This is the loudest humidifier I have ever heard! It also does not seem to really add any moisture to the air at all. Spend your money on something else! My mother has the Air o Swiss and it is really, really nice. Quiet! [but i guess the price reflects quality]

My husband and I just bought this model. It is very loud and didn't help at all. We still woke up with dry throats. We are going to return, if we can, and buy a different one.
