I've had this machine for about 2 months now. I cloth diaper my DS, and he has probably gotten 6 dipes from this little thing. It has made my daughter a dress, repaired a pair of pajama pants, and done tons of little projects for me! I have NEVER used a sewing machine before, and as long as you use your brain and READ THE MANUAL then you are just fine! The bobbin gets cought ONLY if you don't thread it right. The stitches are large ONLY if you pull the fabric through too fast. It's a [...], MINI machine, if you treat it as one, it will treat you nicely back!

I bought this machine because it was inexpensive and compact. I just needed a basic machine to do basic repairs. Now, after less than a year, it's decided that stitching together two pieces of fabric is just too hard. Like other reviewers have pointed out, it only has one type of stitch and doesn't go in reverse. I am now looking for a higher-quality machine that can put on a zipper, go in reverse, go through (gasp) two pieces of fabric without freaking out, and do multiple stitches. If you're looking to do any of these things, don't buy this machine.

Ok ok...I read all the bad reviews this got, but I thought: Its [inexpensive]! so I bought it and puzzled over the instructions for a bit. I am not an experienced sewer and all I was trying to do was hem a shirt. Anyway...after deciphering the meaning of words like "Bobbin Pin"...I figured it out and hemmed my shirt.
Its a tiny machine and very light. Its cute! I probably wouldn't try and make an outfit with it, but for mending an crafts it works quite nicely.
The directions are a bit confusing because the first thing it tells you is how to wind thread onto an empty bobbin. Which seems unecessary. Skip over that part until you need it. A few pages later it finally tells you how to load the thread and set it up. I didnt use the foot pad at all. There's a button on the machine to press and make it sew. Much easier than working a peddle. Anyway-It does work! I feel like I didnt waste my twenty bucks!

When I moved into my new apartment I needed a sewing machine to make curtains and a few pillows, but I didn't have room to store a real one. I ended up getting the Shark, and it has done everything I needed.
This is the first sewing machine I've ever used, and (aside from a few frustrations early on) it was easy to setup and use. It's not exactly state of the art or anything, but I've used it to hem curtains, making piping, and sew a pillow. It meets my needs perfectly.

What a piece of JUNK!!!! Do not waste your time, effort or feelings on this thing. I at least tried it just to see for myself and I really wish I hadn't.

I bought this machine for something inexpensive and simple to use for quick mending. I honestly did not expect a lot from it because it was so cheap, but even my low expectations were far too high. The bobbin does get stuck, the thing jams up all the time, the direction book is mostly in other languages, and the second (and last time) using it, the machine put a rather larger hole in my shirt due to the jamming and bobbin issues. If you need an inexpensive sewing machine, forget about this one and wait until you have a bit more money to spend, you will be happy you did.

Bought this little machine to make some curtains for baby's room. I'm not a seamstress so something simple is just what I was looking for. Well I used it for two days and it no longer works. Read reviews after the fact and there is DEFINITELY something wrong with the bobbin. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

If you are able to read basic English and can understand basic diagrams you won't have a problem with this machine.
I have no idea why it only got one star from two other people, but I can only deduce they cannot do the aforementioned skills. I bought this machine to work mainly with felt and it worked amazingly well, especially considering I was in a dorm and needed something small. There are maybe one or two fabrics I had problems with like canvas, but other than that it works fine. I've fixed holes in clothes, made pillows, etc. No problems yet. If it does happen to jam, you can always open the little gray door to fix it, that's why it's there. And that is what an instruction booklet is for.
The only criticism I have is that the speeds are either fast or OMG-this-is-going-to-kill-me fast, but you get used to it. It is [inexpensive] after all.
I like it.

I bought this to do small tasks like hemming, patching up holes in my kids p.js and so forth, well all this machine did was fix a pair of underwares, fix the croch on 2 kid's p.j.s and then it broke down. Something is wrong with the bobbin, too much thread comes out. I've had freinds look at it thinking I put it in wrong, nope, no one can get it going, I guess it's true what one person said, "you get what you pay for". Plus I hate that it doesnt go backwards. I will sell it in a yard sale and save up for a real machine, this ones like a kids toy.

I bought this as a backup for my larger sewing machine- made in the 50s, that clunker was hard to move around! I figured this would be ok for small jobs. Not the case. The stiches are uneven, and even when they are working, they're HUGE! this means that they keep getting caught on things, and then when they do, because they are so spaced out, the thread pulls the entire seam, resulting in a rather pretty, if entirely inappropriate, ruffle. Also, due to poor design, the thread keeps getting stuck and breaking.
In Short- takes longer than hand-sewing, and looks worse, too!
