I love this thing!

I got this for a Housewarming Gift and I love it simply because it has a setting that you can put it on to make the waffles soft! I hate crispy waffles! It doesn't take long for it to heat up at all! I have used it several times and have no complaints well maybe one and that is I wish that the plates were removable but if I make the waffles right, it is very easy to clean. The more you use it the better you get at perfecting the waffles. Love it!

Works Just Great!

Reviewer:  Navajo Mommy "N.M."  (Baltimore, MD)  See all my reviews

I've made countless waffles with this iron and it's still going strong. My only complaint would be that it takes a long tme to heat up and to cook the waffles. Since you have to make waffles to order my family never gets to eat all at the same time because by the time the next one is ready someone has already finished. I think this might be problem with all non-professional grade waffle irons, so in it's class I'd still have to say that it's the best.

Easy, but soggy

We just got this waffle maker and it's very easy to use but I feel like I can't get crispy waffles from it. The waffles are very light and fluffy, but I can't save them and eat them the next day because they are too soft and soggy.

Otherwise, very easy to use, very easy to clean, small size for wasy storage.

Great!

We got this as a shower gift and it makes excellent waffles. It is an upgrade from our Hello Kitty waffle maker. It makes huge Belgain waffles and it was easy to figure out. It was so easy to clean. We just oiled it with vegetable oil once and it make half a dozen waffles without any of them sticking! A definite plus!

Like it pretty well

But it doesn't brown the waffles as well and quickly as our ancient similar model (not Oster but I can't remember what, anyway it was like 25 years old and finally broke). That said, I'm still capable of making waffle-pucks that my family won't eat, so I guess it gets hot enough! My husband is now in charge of making the waffles edible, and they are good, but not perfectly crisp on the outside.

I also totally abuse our wafflemakers (how i broke the last one) by trying to make "waffled" quesadillas on them, but I don't think it would take too much stress pushing down on something to break the back lever on this.

For what it is, and what it was meant for, and certainly for the price - this is a great buy.

Best Christmas Gift ever!!

This thing is wonderful. If I can figure it out anyone can. It was easy to clean. The first waffle came out a mess but after that I got the hang of it and all the others looked like they could have been on the cover of a food magazine and they tasted great.

great!

i got this for my bridal shower yesterday and i could not wait to try some waffles. This morning i woke up early and made some waffles! I love non brown and non crispy waffles. I like them to be more sponge like. I turned it on the two dot temperature and they turned out just like i like them to be! my fiance on the other hand likes the waffles that crisp. So he was a little sad. Then we turned it up a notch to the highest setting and they came out just like he likes! It makes me happy to know that we can make waffles the way that both of us like them with the same machine! it cleaned up easily and even though the color looks white on here its actually stainless steel colored. I put mine on my registry in store so i knew that, but the picture on the website is a little deceiving.

Hard to clean

Reviewer:  dragonflyriri "RIRI"  (HHI, SC)  See all my reviews

My first waffle came out bad. BUT I then learned that you have to KEEP it on HIGH so it will get golden and actually cook! You have to be careful how much batter you put in because it is amazing how that stuff will overflow! I would give this 5 stars IF the Grill things were removable and you could stick them in the dishwasher. Who wants to wipe it down with a cloth when you have kids?!

Oster Products the Best

Reviewer:  Gadget Girl  (WNY)  See all my reviews

I have had a Oster Waffle maker for years and it just started to stick so I am thinking time to replace it. (nothing lasts for ever) This has always made the best waffles and never stuck to the maker. Cooked perfect. (crispy on the outside and soft inside) For price can't beat it. I always used pancake mix and followed the waffle recipe adding only a half cup per waffle so no spillage over. Even when it spilled it cleaned up super easy. So don't use more than 1/2 cup and pour directly in the center.
