I own (and have owned) various rice cookers for years. I won't own a bad one. I grew up in Hawai'i where we take our rice very seriously. This is simply the best rice cooker I've ever had or used. Not only are there various settings for different consistencies of rice (soft, regular, firm) but also for different types of rice (sushi, brown, brown GABA, mixed rices) as well as a 'porridge' setting (for jook or congee) that are all wonderful. Have I mentioned a warmer for long term (up to 5 days, although the manufacturer does not recommend it), as well as the standard warmer and a reheat feature. The best thing? The rice comes out PERFECT EVERY TIME! Yeah, not the slight soft brown coating that happens even on some of the best rice cookers appears on rice cooked in this machine. I will say that the price charged on this site is quite high; it is possible to find it more inexpensively.
