We love our new ice cream maker. However, the first time we tried to make ice cream, we made the mistake of having the fruit in pieces too large to flow through the blender stick. In addition, my mother-in-law had moved the gel canister from the basement chest freezer to the upstairs refrigerator freezer. The temperature of the chest freezer is much colder.
So we made a second batch. We started with the canister in our basement freezer and cut our fruit up in small chunks. And we ended up with some of the best tasting strawberry ice cream I've ever had!
It's definitely a wonderful purchase!

I received this ice cream maker as a Christmas present when my husband and I were first married. We used it occasionally and it works just fine. Actually, I still use it now (almost 6 yrs later) and it still works fine. The only issue is that it makes a small amount and now we have to kiddos that want in on some of the fun! The ice cream is quite soft when you're done...not good for a cone, but once it's been in the freezer for a bit it's good to go.

I thought I would try to make my own ice cream. I was wrong with this appliance. The consistency was basically a frozen blender style drink. The motor died within two to four months of owning the item.

Don't bother with this product, the motor shuts off 30 minutes into the process. It'll be hours before there's any ice cream from this maker. I suggest investing a few more dollars and get something that works.
