After extensive research, and reading the review of this manufacturer in the Baby Bargains book, we chose this crib 4 years ago for our first daughter. I've been nothing but impressed with it, and am happy to see that Target now carries it--we have newborn twins, and need a second crib to match the first "Rita" we bought. The drop sides are not perfectly quiet, but I think that's a common complaint with pretty much all cribs. But it's made of solid, sturdy construction, the mattress level is easy to adjust be following the directions, and I love having the drawer beneath for extra blankets and sheets. It's a high quality crib that has met our needs now through more than one child.

I gave this only 4 stars due to the non-silent drop sides. If someone ever invents a drop side which is truly silent, I'll award a full 5 stars to them!

We did not buy this crib from Target; we found it at a liquidation sale in a "baby boutique" store in Omaha.

Although we have not used the crib for our baby yet (because I'm still pregnant), we have had it assembled for the last 4 months, and I have been playing around with it (dropping the side, using the trundle drawer, moving it around in the room for vacumming, etc). Here are my observations on this crib:

1. The drop side is easy to manuever and it is very quiet. This is important as to not wake a sleeping baby when you need to drop the side down.

2. The casters are sturdy and big. They roll beautifully on the carpetted floor. I LOVE having the casters. I couldn't imagine having one of those big, stationary cribs; it would be a nightmere trying to get a vacumm under the crib. (It's important to make sure all those dust bunnies never exist under your baby's crib because the dust will cause issues for your baby's health.)

3. The trundle is AWESOME. It is as big as it can be, given the limited space under the crib. The trundle adds wonderful storage. I use it to store baby blankets and the sheets. Later, it could be used for baby toys when the crib is converted to a day bed.

4. The construction is quite sturdy, given that it's a one drop sided crib. I love the birch wood, which is so much better than the flimsy pine used for cheaper cribs. Our crib does not have any scratches yet.

5. Because this crib is Italian (a bonus), the assembly dirctions are a bit difficult to comprehend (must had been some confusion during the translations). It took my handy man of a husband to assemble the crib in a couple of hours. My husband ended up putting the directions aside, and he used his "handyman" instincts to put that thing together. It was a little overwhelming in the first 20 minutes, but then his instincts took over, and that was that!

6. I love the nuetral color! It will be decent for either a boy or a girl. Plus, the color goes with any bedding you like!

All in all, I am VERY pleased with this crib!
