Great crib for the price!

Reviewer:  red_head  (Florida, USA)  See all my reviews

I ordered two of these while expecting our twins. They were really easy to put together and very sturdy. I have no complaints about the crib.
I didn't use the mobile that's included because the battery pack is supposed to go under the mattress, and connects to the top part by a wire. That didn't seem safe to me.
The trundle drawer is made of very thin material and probably won't hold up to rough treatment, but that's not why I chose this crib.
I'd recommend this crib to anyone looking for a safe, sturdy crib on a budget.

No baby in the bed yet...

I bought this crib due to its incredibly affordable price and attractive appearance on the spur of the moment instore. Once home I did my research. Simplicity had a massive, in the fact, the largest voluntary crib recall on this and all of their cribs in 2007. Once looking through the CS recall information it appears blame is to both the manufacturer and those putting the cribs together. I got nervous. I went ahead and put the crib together, and I must say, Simplicity definitely got its ducks in a row on this one. The instructions were thorough, parts clearly identifiable and complete, and emphasis placed on Up vs. Down sides on the side rails. When I saw this I relaxed. I assembled the crib alone in about an hour. I have tugged jiggled, and slammed the side rails up and down A LOT. This crib appears solid.

very satisfied

My mom bought this crib for me, and I originally wasn't too sure if I was going to like it or not. Turns out; I love it. and the price is great. It's very easy to put together. My boyfriend and I put it together in about 20 minutes. Then after we moved, I put it together by myself in about 30. My son has only used it a handful of times so far, but it seems very sturdy & the drop down side is very easy & convenient to use. The drawer that comes with it, was a complete waste & we through it out immediately. I had no clue the mobile even vibrates until I read some of the other reviews, but I never used the mobile anyways, because I got the one to match his bedset. I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.

Better than i expected

I read the reviews and they weren't that great but because i liked how it looked converted into a toddler bed i bought it anyways. The crib is very nice. It took longer to build compared to previous cribs i have had (i have bad luck with cribs)but it was easy and i did it all alone. I do not like that the piece holding the mattress is multiple bars instead of a wood piece like others, i have a hard time keeping my crib ruffle nice but its sturdy so that matters more to me. As far as the trundle drawer goes, it hasnt broke for me and i have kept packs of diapers in it. I just treat it gently. I never even opened the mobile or anything so no comment on that. I have had the crib for 6 months now.

NOT recommended

We bought two SIMPLICITY 4-1 Aspen cribs from Target last spring for our twins. I liked the design as it converts into toddler bed.

Two days ago as I was putting our boys to bed I saw the top of the drop side cracked inwards! I can't say I never lean on the crib during those mid-night crying events, and our boys sometimes stand in the crib and shake the dropside quite strongly. Still, the crib is just a year old and the wooden part cracked??? I now worry about the other crib cracking at some point.

I contacted the manufacturer who offered to replace the part. However, they can't ship out the part until 7/7 and I will need to cover the shipping cost:
[...]

I do have 3rd crib as sometimes one of the twins is too fusy to sleep in the nursery with the other kid. However, I shall not recommend such product with such customer service.

Awesome Crib

Reviewer:  Dani  See all my reviews

We bought this crib once our second-hand crib started to come loose anytime we put our daughter in it. It was a wonderful buy and I absolutely love the crib. I wouldn't exchange it for anything else. It's very sturdy, and the slats are round instead of flat, which in my opinion adds to the sturdiness. The only reason why it loses a star is because we kept getting screws mixed up, and put the drop side upside down. So be sure to pay VERY close attention to what you're doing!

Great buy, Easy to assemble

Reviewer:  ohio mom of 2  (Ohio)  See all my reviews

I bought this crib for my 2nd child. Having done this before a few years ago I was expecting a difficult, cumbersom assembly experience, boy was i wrong. This crib was so easy to assemble. The directions were step by step and very easy to follow. Once it was all set up I was very satisfied with the result. The crib is simple but very pretty to look at. The vibrating mobile was also a nice touch to include. The only part I didn't really like was the trundle drawer. It's not very sturdy. The wood used to assemble it is very thin. However, i do recommend this crib to others!

I purchased this crib at a target store almost 8 months ago. It was a little hard to put together, but a great bed. It's sturdy and safe. The drawer is helpfull for bedding storage. I have not had the opertunity to use the toddler rails yet, but so far so good.

great value!!

My 2 friends and I all bought this crib 3 years ago. The three of us are still using it- we have converted them from crib to toddler bed and now to full bed. I am now buying another one for our second child. It has held up very well. The best part is the value - I priced full size beds for my 3 year old so the new baby could have her crib, but it was twice as much for full beds without the mattresses! Instead, I will pay a fraction of the cost and buy another crib/bed to last the rest of their childhood!
