mine worked great

[An inexpensive] tape player? this was great for the price. i had no problem with the am/fm reception and no problem with the batteries like the other person. I used my own headphones, but that's just because I like my buds instead of over the head.

Jensen scr-68sen Stereo cassette player

Pure junk!I would have given it 0 stars if possible. The person who had trouble loading the batteries was lucky if that was the only problem.I had no problem with that but they lasted for about 2hrs. and they were [...] brand new.The sound is terrible and so is the radio reception.I live in an area where that is usually a factor but even the local station where they broadcast from just a few miles away had static and a weak signal.JUNK!! I threw the packaging away before i tried the radio so I couldn't return it.The tape player works but as the other reviewer stated it is a pain to work and you have to guess where you are.I put it with the rest of my junk and there it will stay.I didn't expect much for [price] but now a days things like this are usually cheap.I can't believe Target would even stock this low quality stuff.I would have to rank this as one of my top 10 worst purchases and I am 60 years old.At least it was only [price].Stay away, spend a couple more dollars and try it out, save receipts, etc.

Junk

First it took perhaps ten minutes to force -- yes, force -- the batteries into the compartment. These were standard Duracell AA cells, not some off-brand, so I doubt there was a size problem inherent in the batteries, but rather a manufacturing issue with the recorder. Then I played a pre-recorded cassette. The motor ran at about 50% higher speed than it is supposed to, which made it totally impossible to listen to a recording. Overall impression: it's not even worth the ten bucks. I'm returning it tomorrow.

No Reverse Function

Reviewer:  Kelly Giordano  (Williamsville, NY)  See all my reviews

Real Name

This is a nice little unit, other than the fact that there is no reverse function for cassettes. If you are using it for music that probably isn't a concern, however it is a problem for audiobooks.

To get back to the point where you want to begin from you need to (1)Remove the cassette and flip it over, (2)Hit Fast Forward, make a guess, and Stop, (3)Remove the cassette and flip it over, (4)Hit Play and hope for the best. If you still haven't found your place, keep repeating the four steps until you do.
