The Baby's Quiet Sounds Handheld 1.8" Color Video Monitor w/ Night Vision from Summer Infant is a truly portable unit that allows parents to see as well as hear their baby while moving around the house. It's ideal for checking on baby without waking him or her. There are also more traditional sound lights that visually show baby's level of acitivity if parents choose to keep the volume low or off. As a new mom of her 1st child (who is now 11 months) it was so nice to be able to see baby anytime I wanted to, without having to go to their room each time you get a worry and want to make sure they are ok. Now it is turning into a - are they really needing me, or just messing around check. :) Great size - easy to clip to your pants, versatility, and great pix - has night vision as well, to see them perfectly in the dark.

Submitted By: twomuffintops from Austin, TX   Date: 03/24/2008 We previously had the Summer Infant Black/White Video Monitor, but because it was not mobile, would have to tote it outside and plug it in to use it outside while our toddler was sleeping inside. This system is compatible with the other video cameras that Summer Infant makes, so we did not have to buy an additional camera when our new baby came- we just used our old one and the one that came in this set. You can flip between camera "A" and camera "B" to watch both of the kids. You can also still use the old monitor along with the handheld mobile monitor. We have not had any problems with static or poor reception, but we also have no houses around us using this system. Our wireless internet, cell phones, phones, etc. have not caused a problem and we get good reception up to 2 houses away, but not if we go into a neighbor's house. The picture quality is better on the handheld. A good video monitoring system overall- the price is comparable to other brands as well. If you have to just buy one, I would recommend the handheld as it is mobile.
