Bugaboo Frog Stroller
In 2003, the Bugaboo Frog - the original Bugaboo stroller - made its debut in the U.S. and instantly became one of the most sought after strollers on the market. The Bugaboo Frog’s chic design and amazing functionality makes it a favorite among moms and dads of all walks of life, from Madison Avenue to Main Street. Bugaboo blends versatility, style, and innovation to give parents of young children more mobility options than ever before. Of the currently available Bugaboo strollers, the Frog is the closest to the classic Bugaboo design and is one of the most recognizable and envied strollers around.
The Bugaboo Frog is a modular newborn-to-toddler stroller that can safely and comfortably seat children from zero to 40 pounds. The Frog features a lightweight chassis with a seat frame that can be fitted with a bassinet fabric to cradle infants up to 19 pounds. Once your baby reaches the weight limit, you can simply switch out the bassinet with the Frog seat fabric. If you prefer not to use the bassinet feature, the seat itself is perfectly suited for newborns in the reclined and semi-reclined positions and includes a five-point safety harness. You’ll want to wait until your child is at least 6 months old before using the seat in the full-upright position. Both the seat fabric and bassinet fabric are included with your Bugaboo Frog stroller and are removable and machine washable. The seat frame, which includes a carry handle, can be removed from the chassis allowing the seat and bassinet to be used independently of the stroller. Many parents love the convenience of using the bassinet separately as a cozy place to lay their infant down for a nap or even overnight. A great money-and space-saving tip is to avoid purchasing a separate bassinet and just park your Bugaboo Frog next to your bed, keeping your baby close for late night feedings.
In both the bassinet and seat, children can comfortably lie down or sit up, however uneven the terrain, thanks to the Bugaboo Frog’s innovative suspension in the front 6-inch swivel wheels. With both horizontal and vertical suspension, the swivel wheels almost “jump” like a frog over obstacles instead of banging against them - earning the stroller its unique name. Going against conventional engineering, Bugaboo designers placed this unusual suspension on the front wheels instead of the back and incorporated a swinging arm, four inches in length, which is similar to the mechanism used on the rear wheel of a motorcycle for stability, traction, and damping. Even with this special suspension, Bugaboo kept the front swivel wheels as slim and light as possible. With the Bugaboo Frog’s unique suspension, you can easily navigate over curbs and bumps without getting stuck or jarring your precious passenger.
Although its small swivel wheels and 360-degree turning radius make the stroller especially nimble in an urban environment, the Bugaboo Frog is also designed to give parents maximum mobility on rough terrain - even on the beach. With the push of a button the handlebar can reverse positions to change the direction of travel and put the twelve-inch pneumatic wheels in front, making off-roading a breeze. To navigate sand and snow, the Frog can be quickly converted to a two-wheel stroller that mom or dad can easily pull behind them. And, the Bugaboo Frog’s easily reversible seat allows the passenger to look at its parent or out at the world. The Frog stroller also includes a convenient parking brake located on the handlebar for easy access and increased safety.
All of these quick and easy functions are controlled by the white buttons located on the Bugaboo’s frame, making the design transparent and user-friendly. Bugaboo engineers pride themselves on hiding incredible functionality behind a deceptively simple design. Transporting or storing the Frog is simple, due to the stroller’s light weight (the chassis, wheels and seat weigh 20 pounds) and compact two-piece fold. In addition to the integrated features, your Bugaboo Frog stroller comes fully loaded with a water-repellent sun canopy, mosquito net, rain cover, safety wrist wrap, underseat storage bag that holds 4.7 gallons, maintenance kit, instructional CD-Rom, and 2-year warranty.
Your Bugaboo Frog stroller can be outfitted with smart accessories to keep you ready for any climate or condition. The Bugaboo Frog Parasol can be attached to all foam parts of the seat/bassinet frame to provide optimal and flexible protection against the sun. The Bugaboo Frog Sunshade offers full protection against UV-rays, heat, and flying insects, and when paired with the Bugaboo Frog Breezy Sun Canopy, your baby will be comfortable and shaded on warm summer days. The Bugaboo Frog Diaper Bag has a changing mat, compartment for diapers, wipes, and other amenities as well as two insulated compartments to keep milk bottles warm and a removable compartment for a cell phone. The diaper bag can be attached to the Frog’s handlebar with four straps that are hidden away in the back panel. The bag doubles as a backpack, and carry straps are also hidden in the back panel. The Bugaboo Frog Footmuff can be used together with the 5-point harness on a cold day or night to keep your child warm.
Additional accessories common to all Bugaboo strollers include Bugaboo Car Seat Adapters, which allow select Graco, Maxi-Cosi and Peg Perego car seats to be attached to the chassis of Bugaboo strollers; the Bugaboo Wheeled Board that attaches to the stroller and allows the parent to push along a second child; the Bugaboo Transport Bag, which includes wheels, a shoulder strap, carry handles, and a separate bag for the swivel wheels to protect your Bugaboo products during transport or air travel; and the Bugaboo Cup Holder that holds drinks for both parent and child.
With clean lines, contemporary appeal, and surprising functionality, Bugaboo strollers have a signature style all their own, and the Bugaboo Frog continues to bring modern mobility solutions to parents all over the globe. It’s no wonder the Bugaboo Frog received the 2003 Editor’s Choice Award for Fit Pregnancy’s “Best All-Around Stroller.” BabyEarth carries the Bugaboo Frog stroller in multiple fabric color options to suit every taste.
