The Bugaboo Cameleon base is an infant-to-toddler stroller that includes a stroller chassis, bassinet, and stroller seat. The bassinet comfortably holds infants up to 19 pounds, while the seat supports children up to 40 pounds. The Cameleon features the innovative Bugaboo engineering that we’ve come to love, such as the famous reversible handlebar that instantly changes the direction of travel, putting the back twelve-inch wheels in front to navigate the roughest terrain with ease. Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller

Following the success of its wildly popular Bugaboo Frog stroller, Bugaboo introduced the Cameleon model to give parents additional customization options and comfort features. With a dizzying array of fabric and color options, the aptly named Cameleon is the most fully loaded Bugaboo stroller. By combining classic Bugaboo versatility and functionality with individually tailored features, the Cameleon offers an infant travel system to please even the choosiest of parents.

Like the Bugaboo Frog, the Cameleon is an infant-to-toddler stroller that includes a reversible bassinet and a reversible seat and can be adapted to fit select Graco and Peg Perego car seats. The Bugaboo Cameleon’s lightweight chassis includes a seat frame that can be fitted with a bassinet fabric to cradle infants up to 19 pounds or 28 inches long. Once your baby reaches the weight or height limit, you can simply switch out the bassinet with the seat fabric to comfortably support your child up to 40 pounds. If you prefer not to use the bassinet feature, the seat itself is perfectly suited for newborns in the reclined and semi-reclined positions and includes a five-point safety harness. Children should be at least six months old before using the seat in the full-upright position. The seat frame, which includes a carry handle, can be removed from the chassis allowing the seat and bassinet to be used independently of the stroller. Many parents love the convenience of using the bassinet separately as a cozy place to lay their infant down for a nap or even overnight. A great money-and space-saving tip is to avoid purchasing a separate bassinet and just park your Bugaboo Cameleon next to your bed, keeping your baby close for late night feedings. The Cameleon is the only Bugaboo stroller that includes a special Aerosleep® mattress designed to circulate air and provide a comfortable overnight sleep.

To create the ultimate customizable stroller, the Bugaboo Cameleon is available in various color combinations. The base fabric, which includes the seat and bassinet, is available in four colors and is made of 1000-denier fabric. Each of the base fabric colors can be combined with one of the canvas or fleece tailored fabric sets, which include the seat inlay, sun canopy, and bassinet apron. Bugaboo offers the 600-denier canvas tailored fabric sets in five colors and the specially designed fleece tailored fabric sets in eight colors. Both the canvas and fleece options have unique appeal: the canvas is bold, strong and colorfast, while the fleece is soft, light, hypoallergenic, water-repellent, non-static, colorfast, and comfortable in both hot and cold weather conditions due to its insulating properties. Bugaboo has developed a special short-fleece structure which prevents the fleece from pilling, even after prolonged and intense use. Also, the fleece tailored fabric “breathes,” allowing excellent ventilation in the seat and bassinet while ensuring that the child’s body heat is retained in cold climates. To give parents even more choices, Bugaboo has introduced the first edition of its special collection: Denim 007, a pre-washed dark blue denim fabric only available on Bugaboo Cameleon strollers. Customers can choose either a complete Denim 007 stroller, or use Denim 007 as an accent in combination with standard Bugaboo Cameleon base or tailored fabrics. No matter your choice, all Bugaboo stroller fabrics are removable and machine washable.

Another distinctive feature of the Bugaboo Cameleon is the adjustable suspension in the swivel wheels. The Cameleon takes Bugaboo’s innovative horizontal and vertical suspension one step further by offering four suspension positions that can be changed as your child gets older and heavier. The most horizontal position allows for the lightest suspension and offers ultimate comfort for a small child, whereas the most vertical position creates the stiffest suspension and is more comfortable for a larger and older child. While employing this adjustable suspension, the Cameleon retains the signature Bugaboo “frog-like” suspension in the front six-inch swivel wheels that allows the stroller to "jump" like a frog over rocks, curb and bumps instead of banging against them and jarring your sleeping baby.

Although its small swivel wheels and 360-degree turning radius make the stroller especially nimble in an urban environment, like its predecessor the Bugaboo Cameleon is also designed to give parents maximum mobility on rough terrain - even in the woods, on the beach, or in the snow. With the push of a button the handlebar can reverse positions to change the direction of travel and put the twelve-inch pneumatic back wheels in front, making it easy to navigate a hike and bike path or other outdoors adventure. To traverse sand and snow, the Cameleon can be quickly converted to a two-wheel stroller that mom or dad can easily pull behind them. And, the Bugaboo Cameleon’s easily reversible seat allows the passenger to look at its parent or out at the world. The Cameleon also includes a convenient parking brake located on the handlebar for easy access and increased safety, as well as a height-adjustable handlebar that is not found on the Bugaboo Frog.

All of these quick and easy functions are controlled by the white buttons located on the Bugaboo’s frame, making the design transparent and user-friendly. Bugaboo engineers pride themselves on hiding incredible functionality behind a deceptively simple design. Transporting or storing the Cameleon is simple, due to the stroller’s lightweight chassis and compact two-piece fold. The Cameleon’s frame is designed to allow extra growing room for your child and therefore has a larger wheelbase, is two inches longer, and sits about two inches higher off the ground than the Bugaboo Frog stroller. The Cameleon’s underseat storage bag is also larger than the Frog’s, holding 6.3 gallons versus 4.7. Even with its additional features and slightly increased size, the Cameleon only weighs about one pound more than the Frog.

In addition to the integrated features, the Bugaboo Cameleon stroller comes fully loaded with a water-repellent sun canopy, mosquito net, rain cover, safety wrist wrap, underseat storage bag, maintenance kit, instructional DVD, and two-year warranty.
