Great Lightweight Stroller

Reviewer:  Mama Mia  (CA)  See all my reviews

We wanted a lightweight stroller and went to [a baby store] and other stores with a wide selection of strollers. We tried a lot of them before purchasing this one.

Pros
*Lightweight and fits easily in the trunk and even in the front seat of both of our cars
*We can open it and fold it up with one hand very easily
*Has a handle on the side if you need to carry it when it's folded up
*Easy to maneuver and smooth ride
*Nicely designed fabric
*Canopy pulls almost all the way down and blocks the sun nicely (and I think it's detachable)
*Canopy has a little peekaboo window that you can look through if your little one is napping
*Harness is nice as it allows our child to lean forward safely when the stroller is stationary, then it slides into place when on the move
*The seat reclines from sitting position to a 45 degree position (and everything in between) easily
*Large storage bin underneath
*Has an attachment if you want to put your infant seat in there (we haven't used this feature so I can't vouch for it)

Cons
*As another reviewer mentioned, there are these odd snaps that serve no purpose at all (they are pretty much out of the way though).
*I wish this stroller had real wheels (though the wheels haven't been a problem so far)
*The bottle holder is basically useless and doesn't stay on well. I've taken ours off bc it kept sliding around and falling off - it's pretty flimsy anyway.
*The way the stroller handles are designed makes it difficult to place your diaper bag on them (which I like to do but someone else may not care).

All in all, I'm very pleased with this stroller and would purchase it again. I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect stroller - unless you want to spend the mega mega bucks :).

PS-I can tell that one of the negative reviews (1 star) of this stroller is referring to the 2006 version of this stroller as the 2007 design has fixed some of the design flaws in the 2006 Aria.

A HUGE waste of time and money!

Reviewer:  Sad Discoverer  (Charlotte, NC USA)  See all my reviews

For this price I expected a wonderful stroller but as it turns out Peg Perego is all hype. We bought this stroller after tons of research into lightweight strollers but still ended up buying a full-size 30-lb Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe.

The Aria has literally useless snaps along the sides of the seat cover which, according to Peg, are not meant to snap to anything - some covers made it out onto the market with these since the designers changed their minds about the design. ???? The snaps just sit there and my kid can get her arm between the frame and the cover. That doesn't seem right for $200. The straps on the back are NOT meant to be attached to the little piece on the seatback. Peg told me that it is only meant for storage and that the 'freedom of movement' harness does not attach to the back to allow your little one to move around or in my kid's case it allows her to fall onto her face because while she can sit supported upright she can't balance herself in the seat as I push and stop the stroller.

Probably the most annoying thing about this stroller is how difficult it was to get Peg Perego to take this stroller back!! You would think that with such a respected name they would be tripping over themselves trying to make you happy. It took about 3 to 4 emails of telling them I was unhappy with the stroller and simply wanted to return it for them to actually issue me a return authorization code! All they kept sending me were explantations as to why the stroller was made the way it was and how my 'concerns could be addressed' even after I told her we had already purchased another stroller. Ultimately, we've decided to sell the stroller because the stroller had to be in 'new/unused' condition which it wasn't because I used it once and that's when I realized all the above problems... I guess this company has no money back guarantee.

Worst investment I've ever made!

Reviewer:  rorojas  (Atlanta, GA)  See all my reviews

My wife and I decided to invest in the Aria because it was so light and it reclined almost horizontally. Well, I don't mean to exaggerate, but this was the beginning of a really bad experience:

1) The stroller is almost impossible to manipulate on polished floors (malls, museums, etc) - you end up having to push the stroller on anything but the rugged streets

2) The 5 point harness is terrible as you have to manually insert it to a little piece on the back of the recliner every single time you are putting your little one on the stroller.

3) It is very difficult to open and close. It was easy at the beginning but as the months went by it got harder and harder until we couldn't open it up anymore. Also, you can never open it up with just one hand as you need to fold the two little locks on the sides - AT THE SAME TIME - in order to open it up.

4) As if all that wasn't enough sun visor is really small so it doesn't protect baby from sun at all, the suspension is terrible and the cup holder is too small.

Overall this was a terrible investment. We ended up having to buy another stroller as this one was not practical and does not fit in with our lives.

Love Love Love This Stroller!!!

Reviewer:  happynewmommy "happynewmommy"  (OH)  See all my reviews

Although I just received this stroller yesterday I am already very in love with it. It is very very light, moves great and you can actually open and close one handed like it says. I have been researching strollers and travel systems for months now and kept going back to this stroller. After hearing all of my other friends talking about how bulky and heavy their strollers are, I knew that I needed something that was light and hassle free. I highly recommend this one.
