If you are into slings...

Reviewer:  Momma Bear  (CO United States)  See all my reviews

I never used a sling and I wanted to give it a shot. I bought this one and found it cumbersome and weird to put my baby in. Not sure if it's my take on slings or this one in general but I returned it. It didn't seem comfortable for her to be in, the material wasn't cozy or snuggly and it felt like my daughter was just flopping about inside.

I loved this sling...

Reviewer:  Cole's Mom  See all my reviews

I loved this sling. When my son was fussy, carrying him around in the sling was sometimes the only way he would calm down. It saved our vacation when we were out of town last christmas. I would use this for walks or shopping. Unfortunately my son has just about out grown it. So we are looking at different types of carriers for bigger children. I don't like it as well in the hip carry mode as the infant mode.

Not what I thought it would be...

Reviewer:  Dissappointed Mom  See all my reviews

I bought this for my 4th child after reading the good reviews and thought I'd give it a try. After not liking other carriers we'd tried in the past, this sling sounded perfect. I first put my daughter in the sling around 2 weeks old to walk to the bus stop to pick up my kindergartner which was only about 2 blocks away. She didn't seem to mind at first, but then started to scream every time I put her in. She would sink in the sling like other reviews said, but unlike those women, I am 5'7" and I felt the sling did not fit well. It was hard to adjust, didn't fit well, felt awkward, pinched my shoulder, and was way uncomfortable for even the 2 block walk. I followed the directions exactly. I felt the sling didn't support her very well and she would end up in kind of a ball on one side of the sling. We no longer use it, maybe when she is older and can sit up, but I am looking for a new sling until then. Not very impressed with this sling.

Great sling!

Reviewer:  Mama Sling  (Pacific Northwest)  See all my reviews

I am a collector of slings and this one was great! My baby was over 9 pounds at birth, and grew very quickly. Her weight was well supported weather she was face-to-chest or sitting upright. It was convenient to slip her in and out with the drawstring while running errands. My husband is a foot taller, so it was easy to adjust for both of us. All in all, babe rides happily asleep or awake for long periods of time shopping, hiking and gardening.

Awesome Sling!!

Reviewer:  Satisfied Customer "Kelly"  (Phoenix AZ)  See all my reviews

I love this sling. My son loved it. I referred to it as a "mute button". At first it was hard to put him in it, but now I just slide him in it and go. It was awesome for grocery stores when he couldn't sit up and wanted me to hold him. Just over the weekend we used it at a park and he is 9 months now. He was able to fall asleep comfortably and snuggle with me!! Out of all the baby stuff I bought, this was the BEST investment.

Much better slings out there!!!

Reviewer:  Power Twins' mommy  (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews

If you truly want to do slinging correctly, do not get this sling!!! First, it is definitely not designed for a shorter or petite person. I am 5'4" and the sling was down to the tops of my thighs even on the tightest adjustment. A correctly fitted sling should sit at navel level. Secondly, it is too loose/big for a baby in a sling even when tightened. The baby should fit SNUGLY in a sling. S/he may seem squished to us (think of how they were in the womb - snug), but unless the sling is actually tight the baby is fine. Keep in mind that if the sling does not fit you and/or your baby properly, you and/or your baby can get hurt! Lastly, the fabric is hard/slightly rough and there are lots of "things" (big pockets, strings, extra fabric, etc.) that can cause the sling to be uncomfortable (and even unsafe) for you and your baby.

I have three slings which I love!!! [...]

might work for a tall/big person

Reviewer:  picky mom  (baltimore, md)  See all my reviews

this carrier is huge! not only did it hang way down almost to my knees when i put my baby in it but i remember he cried immediately--i couldn't even see him. it was very uncomfortable. could be because i am only 5'2" and at that point 110 pounds...may work for a taller person--or a guy with really broad shoulders.

So dissapointed!!

Reviewer:  Jocelyn M  (New Jersey)  See all my reviews

I brought this carrier for my baby before she arrived.
When she was about 3 weeks I tried it on her for the first time and she was not a happy baby. She screamed b/c she seemed to get swallowed up by the carrier. She weighed about 7lbs at that point. I thought that since she might have been too small for it I waited a few weeks and tried again. Now at 10lbs she still does not like this carrier and seems to be engulfed in it. I do not recommend this. I would rather spend the extra dollars and get a Baby Bjorn which comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by numerous parents. When the time comes to get something for my baby when she weighs over 25lbs, I will worry about finding something then.

Not what I expected.

Reviewer:  Hoosier Mama "Angi"  (Indiana)  See all my reviews

I thought this would be great for nursing or getting housework done while holding the baby, but it wasn't because it did not hold the baby close enough. I am quite skinny, so it might hold a baby closer to a bigger mommy. The large plastic pieces for adjusting the strap always dug into me no matter where I placed them. the spring-loaded adjusters on the side strings also slip. I expected more for the price. For less than $1, I made a better sling in 5 minutes with a large scrap of fabric and 2 large metal rings from the craft department (similar to the Maya wrap).

Happy with money spent

Reviewer:  far2cre8tive "Mommy of 2 Angels"  (Fort Worth, TX)  See all my reviews

I was very choosey with the money being spent on a carrier. In the past I was never really impressed with slings since a newborn looks and seems uncomfortable. I purchased the Premaxx after reading other reviews. I liked that I'll be able to use it as a hip carrier down the road as well. It is a very functional piece of baby gear. My only complaint is that the shoulder piece could use a bit of padding, possibly even removable padding, since when carrying baby the shoulder part hurts a little after about 15 minutes of carrying. This could pass after some conditioning I guess. To be honest it is more of a discomfort then an actual pain.
Anyway, my newborn seems to enjoy being carried around in it and since I have a two year old as well....I am glad to have my hands free to do other things...dance, hold hands, blow bubbles, make lunch, etc...
