Love this seat. The adjustable head rest is great, and the velcro on the sides to hold the straps in place while you seat your child in the seat is a great idea too; so they don't end up sitting on them.

Previously had the Britax Companion infant seats for my twins. Now have two of these Boulevards. I set one facing forward and one backward since one of my 1year old's is >20# and the other wasn't quite at the time I purchased these. Both set ups were easier than I thought they'd be, even "swapping" sides on the latch straps was just like the instructions said. I like: 1. chest buckle (vice the plastic non-buckle thing that the companion had) 2. the main buckle will click in one side at a time (unlike the Companion where you had to have both pieces inserted for the buckle to lock) 3. same system of strap adjustment as Companion 4. The instruction book is secured to th seat, seems inconvenient but you don't lose it! 5. something other than black fabric--I got Huntington (or something like that)(tan with little spirals, you don't see those on the picture but they are cool), and Shannon (with flower pattern)! The only downside I can see fr the near future is that they are heavy and we'll be flying soon. I have wheels for them but carrying them down the aisles--well, it was nearly impossible with the Companion! However, it probably doesn't weigh that much more than comparable convertible seats. Even though it takes 5-65 pounds, and even if my babies would have been ovr 5 pounds at birth, I still would have done the infant seat first, the Companion has the thicker head pillow around the top to keep their head stable; even with the extra removable cushion, you'd need even more than the usual additional stuff to keep a baby's head straight with this seat.

I LOVE this car seat. Jacob is 16 months old now & the best thing about it is the side "wings" in the head area. He leans his head against them when he falls asleep so no head "bobbing" or strained neck. The base is quite large but I can fit 2 seats in the back of my SUV and still fit one smaller sized passenger next to them.

So EASY to install. Love the padding for all that comfort!! I bought it for my 11 month old and it is the best seat. We love it!! Price means nothing compared to comfort and safety!!

Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat

Britax hails the Boulevard as the flagship of its convertible car seat line, and it's easy to see why. The Boulevard combines the best and most innovative features from its predecessors, as well as some fantastic new surprises that truly make it a top-of-the-line car seat.

As a convertible car seat, the Boulevard can be installed facing rear for newborns and infants and then convert to a forward-facing seat to accommodate older babies. Like Britax's Marathon and Decathlon, the Boulevard supports babies from 5 to 33 pounds in the rear-facing position, and in the forward-facing position the seat can support 20 to 65 pounds and up to 49 inches tall. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the rear-facing car seat position at least until one year old and 20 pounds. The Boulevard offers a rear-facing harness that will fit most children from birth until well past their first birthday, making it a great choice as a first car seat and also for babies who have outgrown their infant rear-facing only seat but are still too young to move to a forward-facing seat. The seat's higher weight limit will safely and comfortably accommodate most children up to age five in the forward-facing position, extending its use significantly beyond most convertible car seats on the market.

Like its predecessors, the Boulevard features a tangle-free, five-point polyester harness with Britax's patented HUGS, or Harness Ultra Guard System, which gently cushions the neck and chest, reduces forward head movement, helps avoid improper chest clip placement, and distributes the harness load to avoid webbing edge irritation on the child's neck in the event of a collision. The seat's front harness adjustment is a lift-lever style located under a protective flap on the seat cover. According to Britax, the lift-lever adjustment was intended as an alternative to the usual push-button adjustor and is designed to be easier for individuals with low-hand strength and easier to access in the rear-facing position.

A special feature found only on the Boulevard is a unique harness height adjustment dial to help parents take full advantage of the seat's higher weight limit. With the turn of a knob, the Boulevard's harness and headpad are effortlessly raised or lowered. That's right - no more threading harness straps through those tiny little slits. The Boulevard provides infinite harness heights, allowing you to create a custom fit for your little tike without having to remove the seat from your vehicle.

The Boulevard can be easily installed using lap belt and shoulder belt harnesses as well as the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) anchoring system that accompanies most vehicles made after 2003 and a few models made in 2000 to 2002. The seat's premium, push-button LATCH connectors ensure a quick, simple, and tight installation every time. If you do not have LATCH or if you'll be using the car seat in an older model automobile with metal locking clips on the safety belts, the Boulevard includes built-in lock-offs to tightly secure the vehicle's seat belt in both the rear and forward-facing positions. For children weighing more than 48 pounds, be sure to use the vehicle's seat belts, not LATCH, unless otherwise specified by the vehicle manufacturer. The Boulevard conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards and is certified for use in aircraft, meaning you can secure the Boulevard into an aircraft seat to keep your baby snug and your hands and lap free. Of course, always check with your airline for any size requirements or other regulations regarding child seats.

The Boulevard includes Britax's patented Versa-Tether system, which anchors the top of the seat to the vehicle and reduces forward or backward movement in the event of a collision. While most car seats only provide tethering in the forward-facing position, Britax's intelligently designed Versa-Tether allows rear-facing as well as forward-facing tethering for maximum seat stabilization.
