Not worth the money...

Reviewer:  happy.mom.of.one  (midwest)  See all my reviews

I've been looking at car seats for my 6 month old for a few weeks now. He is growing out of his travel system infant carrier fast and want a safe and comfortable car seat for him. I've seen this in the stores, as I've been to tons of stores and reading online reviews. This has NO padding at all. It's so uncomfortable, I would never get this as his primary car seat. You can knock on the seat, and you hear plastic as if you were just knocking on it without the fabric on it. I would spend the extra money and get a seat that actually has padding. I was appauled they make them this uncomfortable!

This carseat has a design flaw that all parents should be aw

I have noticed when putting my kids in their seats, that when I tighten the seat belts it feels like something is rubbing or ripping. I would look and look, but could never see anything to cause worry, so I just dismissed it. Well, when I took the carseat out to help a neighbor figure out how to loop the seatbelt through her seat we found under the seat itself that the belt was completely frayed! There are two sharp plastic points that are suppose to keep the seatbelt in line directly under the seat. But the belts on ours have been rubbing against those and are completely frayed!!! I wouldn't have ever known if I hadn't taken the seat out and looked directly under the seat itself!!!!!!!! I was shocked, so I took my other carseat out and looked and it was the same way!!!! I could put my finger through the center of the belt on one of them!!! It was so bad!!!

I called the company today about it, and they are sending replacement belts for it. Evidently they are new and improved belts that are suppose to keep from fraying, but it will take 7-10 days to get here!!! What am I suppose to do in the meantime!! I am not putting my kids in those seats in that condition! Rawr!!! I am more upset just at the entired situation!!

I would have expected a recall or customer awareness regarding this problem by now.

Look No Further

I bought this seat after trying two other more expensive seats. Neither would install tight enough rear facing. Yes, this seat is not super padded and plush, but who cares! This seat installed easily and VERY securely. My daughter is comfortable and safe and that's what matters. To top it off, this seat is very economical. I couldn't be happier with this seat. I just wish that I had bought it first.

Ok for the price

We bought this car seat as a spare for my husband's car about six months ago. It's fine for the price, but I wouldn't recommend it as your primary car seat. It doesn't have very much padding. I know for some children this can be a problem with comfort. In our case it doesn't seem to be an issue. We took our son on a trip this past summer where he was sitting in the seat anywhere from 3 to 6 hours at a time and did just fine. The big issue I have with it is the LATCH system. The straps are far too short to use the LATCH in the rear-facing position. I wish I'd paid closer attention to the people who had mentioned that in their reviews before buying it. I thought maybe it was an issue with certain cars, however there is no way possible the straps can reach to the LATCH buckles if the seat is rear-facing; they aren't long enough to even make it to the front of the car seat. I guess it wouldn't be such a big deal if we kept the seat in the car all the time, and once we turn it around, that shouldn't be a problem anymore. Overall, it's a good seat if you need a spare, but I'd spend a little more on your primary seat.

Great seat for a Great Price!!

Reviewer:  DKay  (Houston, TX)  See all my reviews

This is a great car seat. My son started using this seat when he was 5 months old because the infant seat was too short for him. He sleeps great in it and I feel that he is safe in this seat. If you install it correctly it works great!

excellant seat

Reviewer:  mom of 2 "kristin f"  (torrington ct)  See all my reviews

The is a great seat. It is comfortable for a child and safe. It will also last longer then many 40lb weight limit seats because of the 4 harness adjustment slots. someone wrote about the seat is unsafe because rear facing you can push it into the front of the back seat. of course you can it is called rebounding....all rear facing seats do it with the exception of two. the britax seats and the sunshine kids radians. they don't because they are approved to be tethered when rear facing. save money and buy this great seat you child is safe

good for 2nd/grandma's car-but not for long!

Reviewer:  value searcher "jeni"  (milwaukee)  See all my reviews

Me and my husband both have this seat in our cars as I got them on sale for an unbelievable [price]. I would give this 2 stars, but gave it 3 for the price. Well I'm now shopping for new ones as my 35" 34lb. 2 year old has outgrown it according to a car seat tech at Children's hospital. I was hoping that wouldn't be until he was 4 as it is supposed to go up to 40lbs. and either 40" or 43". Anyway, the padding is quite minimal and although he never seemed to mind and sleeps fine in it, It seems like there isn't enough cushion if in an accident his head were to hit the sides of the hard plastic. I'm not saying go spend $300, I won't, but some better padding, and a higher height/ weight limit may be worth spending a little more.

You get what you pay for...

Reviewer:  Jenna  (Central Florida)  See all my reviews

The only reason I even award this car seat with 1 star is because of its low price. My son can't get comfortable in this seat because the back is so straight (up & down) and it needs some padding all over. I tried to return it to the store but they wouldn't take it (even with a receipt) because we had thrown away the box. We stuck it in our garage to collect dust and replaced it with a wonderful Evenflo Titan Elite DLX (well worth the extra $40).

You have to take the latch strap out of the FF belt path!

Reviewer:  Mom to 2 under 2 "Ky"  See all my reviews

I have seen reviews saying that this seat doesn't work rear facing with latch. READ YOUR MANUALS! The car seat comes with the LATCH strap routed in the FORWARD FACING BELT PATH. You must remove it buy unscrewing it from the back and putting it through the rear facing belt path for it to work. The stickers on the seat and the manual show you how to install the seat rear facing and forward facing. If you install the seat rear facing using the forward facing belt path the seat will FAIL in an accident potential injuring your child. ALWAYS read your car seat manual before you install any seat.
I have this seat as a back up and it's a decent seat for the price.

Love it so much, I bought two!

Reviewer:  pool gal "pool gal"  (Los Angeles)  See all my reviews

Two of these seats costs less than one more expensive seat, and this one is just as safe! I had a Cosco carseat with my older child too. Easy to install, safe, light, easy on the wallet.
