| Davis Instruments Weather Monitor II Know several facets of the weather with the Davis Instruments Weather Monitor II. This compact weather station has a wealth of information on one screen. This unit has the time, date, indoor temperature and humidity, outdoor temperature, barometric pressure, and wind speed and direction available for your reference. The left side of the screen has a compass rose, and a small arrow appears in the compass to note wind direction. Wind speed can be displayed in miles per hour, kilometers per hour, knots, or meters per second. This information is gathered from an included anemometer, placed outdoors. The right side of the display can note the indoor or outdoor temperature in your choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius. The outdoor temperature is received from an included external temperature sensor. This station also notes the wind chill, or the temperature it feels outdoors when the wind blows. Combining the wind speed with the outdoor temperature data, the station calculates the wind chill and displays it as a temperature in your choice of Fahrenheit or Celsius. Toggle the display to show the time in twelve or twenty four hour format, or the month and date. This station also measures the barometric pressure, which can be shown in inches of mercury, millimeters of mercury, or millibars. The pressure represented in numerals will appear on the screen, and an arrow that points upward, downward, or straight indicates whether it is rising, falling, or remaining steady.
This deluxe weather station not only reads and displays meteorological information; it also records minimums and maximums for your reference. This station records the minimum and maximum values of the indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as indoor humidity. It also records the highest wind speed and lowest wind chill. All this information may be viewed by pressing the recall button on the indoor station. These values will remain in the station's memory until a higher or lower measurement occurs, they are manually cleared, or there is a power outage. The unit also features alarms which can be set to sound when a function of the station reaches a particular point. High and low temperatures, high wind speed, low wind chill, and high and low indoor humidity alarms may be set to your chosen values. The alarm will sound when the weather condition reaches the set point, and continue sounding until the reading rises above the level for lows, or below it for high alarms. Place the indoor console on a desk, table, or shelf, or wall mount it with the included base. Place the anemometer outdoors, elevated above the roof line and where wind is unobstructed. Use the included hardware to mount it to a wooden post or metal pole. The external temperature sensor should rest in the shade, protected from rain and suspended in the air for the most accurate readings. The anemometer and temperature sensor both connect to the junction box, which sends the information to the main console. Mount the junction box on an indoor wall, or use it outdoors inside a weatherproof shelter. Connect the 40' anemometer cable and 25' temperature sensor cable to the junction box, and join the junction box to the main console with the included 8' of cable. Use the included AC adapter to power the station, and insert a 9 volt battery (not included) for backup. Keep weather information available at all times with this Weather Monitor II.
