This tidy unit displays all you need to know to face the day's weather. The first line has an icon noting if the weather is sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rainy, stormy, or icy. Above that is an air pressure arrow indicating whether the air pressure is rising, falling, or remaining stable. The time, received from the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, from up to 2,000 miles away, follows the icon. The time shows the hour, minutes, and seconds, followed by a tower icon displaying the strength of the signal from the atomic clock. Under the time is the moon phase, shown by the scrolling of the moon icon from left to right. The icon stops scrolling for five seconds on the current moon phase, and then begins scrolling again. A calendar under the moon notes the month, day, and date, and one or two bell icons next to the date indicate whether or not the alarms are activated. For versatility, two alarms may be set independently. A large snooze button on top of the clock allows five extra minutes of sleep when pressed.
The middle line of the display unit indicates the outdoor temperature, received from up to three outdoor sensors. One remote sensor is included with the unit. A small number next to the temperature indicates which sensor's information is displayed at the moment. The unit can receive a signal from up to one hundred feet away in open space. The remote transmitter also senses the relative humidity outdoors, and arrow icons for both the temperature and humidity indicate whether each are rising, remaining stable, or falling. The final line notes the indoor temperature and humidity, again with tendency arrows. The silver and charcoal casing lends a modern feel to the piece. The main unit runs on two AA batteries (not included), while the transmitter uses two AAA batteries (not included) for power. Both items will rest on a flat surface with the included stands.
