Fast and efficient service from Tiger direct. My N95 screen went black after a couple of months. Always cased and never abused, Nokia refused to cover under the warranty. Do your research before buying this phone. This will be my last Nokia phone ever.

Great phone, does it all. TigerDirect was fast on order processing and shipping.

I'm fond of device advocacy and I have been using cell phones since 1997!!! I have tested and freaked almost every type of cell phone in markets (Asian, Europena and American). From Siemens S6 till N95 via iPhone is a great zeal of experience. I have seen and tested phones on both sides of world i.e Asian and American markets!!! I was a powerful Windows Mobile 6.1 business handheld user before N95 and was always shackled by a clumsy, slow and inelegant UI and confusing set of text entry mechanisms. On the iPhone, on the other hand, the photo emailing was least impressive. I was bugged by my Windows Phone whose touchscreen was really an irritating factor as I had to use both my hands for usage, I never realized this during first few months of my purchase but started to miss the keypad a lot. The N95 is the best all-round (smart)phone for the user who wants more than just phone calls and texts. I never liked the Iphone except for graphics but I am not an artist looking for animations on

Great phone! No problem accepting my Sandisk 8GB microsd chip (which I got on another website for about $36, which makes it just about equal to the new n95 with 8gb onboard memory, but for a lot less) Okay, so the iPhone 3g has better email and better web browsing features, but Apple purposely cripples all Bluetooth data transfers, just like all Verizon phones and most Blackberrys. What does that mean? Well, with my n95, I can wirelessly tether it to my laptop, so I have an internet connection on my laptop without having to carry any extra cables. I can take pictures on my phone and send it by Bluetooth to my computer. I can send or receive mp3s, ringtones, pictures to/from my friend's phone, wirelessly. You can't do any of those thing with the iPhone because, for reasons I can't figure out, those Bluetooth features have been disabled. So, for now, I'll stick with my Nokia.

What You Should Know
Before You Buy - Not Sure If A Phone Will Be Compatible With Your Cellular Carrier?

This is especially important when buying Dual Band or Tri-Band Phones.  Quad Band Phones support all used frequencies.

Refer to our Official GSMA US Cellular Carrier List or Canada Carrier List for the quick answer!

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology are robustness, low power, and low cost.

Technically, Bluetooth is a specification for the use of low-power radio communications to wirelessly link phones, computers and other network devices over short distances. The name "Bluetooth" is borrowed from Harald Bluetooth, who was a king in Denmark more than 1,000 years ago (Computer people choose the strangest names!).  Bluetooth technology was designed primarily to support simple wireless networking of personal consumer devices and peripherals, including cell phones, PDAs, and wireless headsets.

Note About Cell Phone
Expansion Memory!

Many cellular phones come with a slot for expansion memory, such as: Mini or MicroSD, MemoryStick Micro, or others.  Expansion memory is a great way to safeguard photos, contact lists, and other files.  On our product pages, we may show photos or diagrams of how this memory is inserted and used with the phone for informational purposes, since we try to be as comprehensive in our explanation of each phone's features and functions as possible.   However, additional expansion memory cards are NOT included with the phone (unless explicitly stated).

Remember, regardless of the brand of your phone, use only compatible micro/mini SD, or memory stick cards, approved by your phone's manufacturer for use with your device. This is because not all expansion memory is designed for the same specifications (such as read/write speeds and capacity).  Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.

Also, when inserting a memory card into your phone, your phone may prompt to format the memory card.  When a memory card is reformatted, all data on the card is permanently lost. Some memory cards are supplied preformatted and others require formatting. Consult your memory card's user guide to find out if you must format the memory card before you can use it.  If you are using a memory card in your phone that was used on another device, such as a digital camera, or a PC, exercise caution as viruses can be transferred in this way.  Never insert a memory card into a computer that does not have up-to-date antivirus software.  Only open files on the memory card that are known safe.  When in doubt, insert the card in a compatible computer and run a antivirus scan.

What Is GSM?
Today's Wireless Revolution is being achieved through the GSM family of wireless technology platforms - today's GSM, GPRS, EDGE & 3GSM.  It is the basis of a powerful family of platforms for the future - providing a direct link into next generation solutions including GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) EDGE (Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution) and 3GSM.  GSM's unrivalled success can be attributed to many factors, including the unparalleled co-operation and support between all those supplying, running and exploiting the platform. It is based upon a true end-to-end solution, from infrastructure and services to handsets and billing systems.  GSM is a standard that embraces all areas of technology, resulting in global, seamless wireless services for all its customers. It's all part of the Wireless Evolution.

GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is the technology that underpins most of the world's mobile phone networks. The GSM platform is a hugely successful wireless technology and an unprecedented story of global achievement and cooperation. GSM has become the world's fastest growing communications technology of all time and the leading global mobile standard, spanning 214 countries.  Today, GSM technology is in use by more than one in five of the world's population - by June 2006 there were over 2 billion GSM subscribers, representing approximately 80% of the world's cellular market. The growth of GSM continues unabated with almost 400 million new customers in the last 12 months.  The progress hasn't stopped there. Today's GSM platform is living, growing and evolving and already offers an expanded and feature-rich 'family' of voice and multimedia services.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT RETURNS ON CELL PHONES:
In order to keep providing low prices to all customers, we must institute these policies to avoid customer fraud. All returned phones are powered on and thoroughly inspected for damage. Any returns that do not meet the following guidelines may be refused and returned to you or your credit amount may be reduced or no credit may be issued at all.

  1. Any returned cell phone must include the original box with matching identification EIN and Serial numbers. The Serial number on the phone MUST match the serial number we shipped you.
  2. We will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones that have physical damage or have been wet. We're sorry, but if you damage it, we can't accept it back. In the very rare event that your phone is damaged when you receive it the damage must be reported within 72 hours of receipt. In these cases we will issue a return authorization and EXCHANGE the damage phone for a like or similar model depending on availability, provided the serial number matches.
  3. We will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones damaged by water or any liquids. We know it might've been an accident, but whether it suffered a small splash of water or a swim in an ocean, we can't take it back. There are test indicators in the phone that indicate it has been wet, so even if it dries out, the indicator will still tell us it has been wet.

What Is An Unlocked Cell Phone?
Simply put, an unlocked cell phone is a GSM cell phone that is NOT locked by the manufacturer or network provider to be used in a specific country or or a specific carrier!  You are free to use the phone where you want, and with which ever carrier/network provider that is compatible with the Unlocked GSM Cell Phone.

A Locked Cell Phone is one that has a SIM lock.
A SIM lock, simlock, network lock or subsidy lock — not to be confused with PIN code — is a capability built-in to GSM phones by cellular phone manufacturers. Network providers use this capability to restrict the use of these phones to specific countries and network providers. Currently, phones can be locked to accept only SIM cards from one or more of the following:

  • Countries (the phone will work in one country, but not another)
  • Network/Service providers (e.g. AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile, Vodafone, etc.)
  • SIM types (i.e. only specific SIM cards can be used with the phone).

You can purchase Unlocked mobile phones to work with any GSM provider, as long as it is compatible with your chosen network, but the phone may still display the original branding and may not support all of the features your new carrier (such as Friends & Families type features).

Also Note: That some Unlocked phones may have Network Carrier's Logos imprinted on them.  Such as “AT&T” or “T-mobile”. This in no way inhibits you from being able to use them on any compatible network, or with any compatible SIM card, as these phones are unlocked.
