Looked like it should just work.....but it didn't.
I bought 2, and used one on a CD-RW drive. After messing around for a while, I was able to see the CD-RW in the bios, when I put the CD-RW jumper on Cable Select. Any other position and the computer wouldn't boot. I never saw the drive in Windows (but maybe that's a Vista problem).
My IDE harddrive went a little better. I was able to see it intermittently in windows....long enough to get my data off it.
Sabrent tech service was and still is silent on the issue. I suggest you look for alternative solutions.

Product came without instructions. Took me a couple hours of tinkering to figure it out. I got this to work on an IDE hard drive by putting the harddrive jumper on master and leaving the adapter jumper off.

Shipped with no documentation, but I guess you shouldn't need it; a part like this either works, or it doesn't. For me it didn't. Everything plugs in the way it looks like it should, but my Intel D201GLY2-based budget system just couldn't find the HDD, no matter what I did in BIOS. I wound up buying a cheapie SATA HDD rather than re-using the old IDE drive I had kicking around. Probably should have just done that in the first place. Waste of $15.00.

I bought this hoping to solve my IDE situation, crossed my fingers, easy install, simple connections, huh, jumper, why? Needless to say, the board didn't work,I tried every jumper possibilty still nothing, I contacted there support web site. Seven days now, still no reply from them. Maybe this unit only works on certain motherboards. But not on mine. I sent it back to Tiger and went out and bought a new serial ATA DVD burner.
