Needed more drive space for multiple OS on an Asus M2A-VM motherboard which only has one IDE controller bus, and had multiple IDE 20 Gig hard drives I wanted to use. Hooked everything up like the directions said and I saw all the drives. I have two drives set up as a striped set, and all is working fine.

I'm not sure why people had trouble with this card, but all went smoothly for me. I didn't have to adjust anything, or do any setup in the boot menu. I installed the card, plugged in two HARD DRIVES, and it just worked. The drives don't seem to be adversely affected speed wise either, by having to use this card. I have not tried a CD/DVD drive.
Just a note to anyone who might need this card. My comp is a prebuilt (gasp!) Dell , and I thought I was going to be good to go with this card, so when my card came, I popped it in my computer ONLY TO REALIZE I DIDN'T HAVE EVEN ONE MOLEX CONNECTOR TO POWER MY DRIVES (all were SATA) These are available, but no computer store stocks them. You might need a SATA to Molex power adapter, so check your case. Everybody has a Molex to SATA- those are easy to find. It's SATA to Molex that's hard to find.
I used: ABS SATA To Molex Power Adapter
The card does add a few secs to your comp's boot time, b/c it creates a post screen during startup.

VERY BAD CARD -- I'm sorry, but with ANYTHING I tried, Linux Debian, Linux Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Windows XP Media Center, Windows XP Pro, and Windows Vista, IT WOULD NOT INSTALL. Any time I tried to install, it either: BSoD'd, shutdown randomly, rebooted randomly, and it even flipped a surge switch in my powersupply. NOT A GOOD PRODUCT, DO NOT BUY.

This card MIGHT work in another computer but I couldnt get it to work with my system. After several emails with Sabrent tech support and many attempts to get it to work, I finally gave up and purchased a different brand of card. My computer would not boot up with the Sabrent card hooked up to ANY of my drives. I uninstalled and installed the drivers many times and changed pci slots on the motherboard to no avail. I would NOT recommend this card to anyone.
