This PCI Host Adapter can upgrade your desktop computer to have dual Serial ATA RAID Channels. It can support Low profile PCI and regular size PCI both. The board provides a 32bit, 33/66 MHz PCI interface on the host side and dual, fully compliant Serial ATA ports on the device side to access Serial ATA hard disk drive. Striping (RAID 0) and Mirroring (RAID 1) improve the data performance and provide the data redundancy.

| If you are looking to purchase this card for use in a low profile system forget it. The product that ships is totally different from the pictures and does not include the low profile bracket as promised. I ordered one and when I found the bracket to be missing had customer service send out another. It showed up with the low profile bracket missing also. Tried contacting Sabrent and got no response from their web site and someone who could barely speak English when calling their tech support number. Shipped both back and purchased the IoGear card. |

| I did not get this card for the RAID. I got it because the SATA controller on my motherboard wasn't working very well with my new WD SATA drive. I have XP PRO, the install was a snap, and now I'm up to full speed (well, OK, just 1.5 gb/s, but thats good enough for government work!) |

| Works as advertized with Windows XP Home and the new drivers from viaarena. Required a jumper with Sata-2 WD 250GO drives because does not accept speed negotiate. After that work great. Have now a raid 1 configuration on my computer. |

| Discovered driver download package from Sabrent website for this product does not include the driver for Via VT6421L chip on card.
Via VT6421 driver included with CD provided with the PCI card.

| Product seems to work fairly well so far. Installation on an existing XP Pro system was a bear. You have to make a Floppy (this system had no floppy drive). Boot from XP Pro install disc (have your product key handy), F6 and install the driver, then do a REPAIR INSTALL of the OS to integrate the driver into the kernal. This sucks. Works great, but a LOT of work... install SP2 again, download and install 100+ updates.. took me 5 hours of thumb twiddling time, just to integrate this driver, but that is SATA for you when you install a new controller. HOWEVER my customer is happy... bottom line. |
