AMCC’s 3ware 8006-2LP Serial ATA (SATA) RAID controller economically delivers
full-featured true hardware RAID to servers and PC workstations. The 3ware 8006-2LP
is a half length, low profile 2-port controller. Combined with an advanced RAID
management feature set that includes web-based, command-based, and API software
components, the 8006-2LP is the industry’s most compelling PCI to SATA
RAID solution for the budget-conscious IT professional. Intelligently engineered
in close collaboration with third party motherboard and drive manufacturers,
the 3ware 8006-2LP sets the standard for seamless integration.
Enterprise-class Data Reliability and Management
True hardware RAID is a requirement in IT environments where data availability
is paramount. All AMCC 3ware RAID controllers incorporate onboard I/O offload
processors to deliver true hardware RAID. Software RAID schemes use the system’s
processor, exploit host memory, compromise reliability and potentially rob the
system of CPU cycles. The 3ware 8006-2LP supports RAID levels 0, 1, and JBOD.
Managing RAID installations is simple with 3ware Disk Manager (3DM®), CLI,
S.M.A.R.T. disk monitoring and an integrated BIOS configuration utility. 3DM
software is a browser based management utility for easy local and remote array
management in Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD O/S environments.
The 3ware 8006-2LP capitalizes on technical advancements in the areas of hot
plug capability, signal integrity, reduced pin count, reduced power requirements
and longer, thinner cables for simplifiedf routing. The 8006-2LP RAID controller,
with the advantages of Serial ATA connectivity,is a compelling solution for
enterprise storage installations and PC workstations alike.
