I purchased 6 of the TEW-450APB. It's a full-featured AP with 5 modes of operation (AP, Client, Bridge, Bridge+AP, Repeater) Although in (simplex) repeater mode, you will lose 50% of your network throughput, but that's true for any (simplex) repeater. For a job, I had to deploy a wireless network that would cover a huge property, muddled with trees and hilly terrain. I planned that I would need 3 repeaters on this network, plus the original access point. That many 'simplex' repeaters would really take a toll on network throughput. I was able to create 3 'lossless' repeater stations by linking 2 of my TEW-450APB's at each repeater station (one configured as a Client connecting to the original AP, and one configured as another AP on a different SSID and channel). This allowed me to deploy 3 wireless repeaters without any loss to network throughput. The TEW-450APB allowed me to give my customer an affordable price point for the massive network.

I bought this for its repeater mode to extend the range of my home network. But even after several trips through the set-up and trying to navigate the poorly designed trendnet website I still did not see any increase at all. I tried to get customer service but none of my inquires were answered. I would say to pay more for a different brand as it appears with trendnet you do not get what you pay for!
