I bought a pair to connect two segments of my network (replacing a CAT5 100Mb cable.) Since there were 4 computers at each end, the communications between the 2 groups were limited to 100Mb total. With this system, the limit is now at least twice this (and potentially higher if I install a Gigabit switch on the other end.)
