VIA VT6306 Firewire 3+1 IEEE 1394 PCI Controller Card
The IEEE 1394, so-called FireWire allows users to connect up to 63 devices,
whose specification calls for 100, 200 and 400 Mbits/sec. Transfer rate. It
supports hot swapping, multiple speeds on the same bus and isochronous data
transfer, which guarantees bandwidth for multimedia operations. It is perfectly
for truly universal connection for almost any consumer, computer or peripherals
applications like digital cameras and other video devices.

| Received my product and installed it the same day. Worked great transferring my digital video to my PC. Installed it into a Dell E530 running Windows Vista with no problems(yet). The only thing I think I am missing is a serial number to install VideoMaker 8.0 from Ulead. Will have to contact the company and find out where it is. |

| Bought 2 cards. 1 was DOA. The other wouldn't work in an xp dell machine, but works good in my p4 linux machine. CUA expedited replacement. RMA was easy. Good service. |

| Review of Sabrent's Firewire 3+1 Ports IEEE 1394 PCI Host Controller Card with 6pin to 4pin Firewire Cable. I'm not happy with the SBT-VT6306 that I received. I wish I hadn't bought it now. First off, the card you get doesn't exactly look like the photo they have on the Sabrent website or on the TigerDirect website. There is no surface-mounted power connector on the card as pictured in the photo. I found no drivers or manual included in the CD for the card. The CD includes Ulead VideoStudio 8.0 but I couldn't find any password to go with it, so it didn't work for me. Without a password, it won't work. In trying to install this thing, I got a Code 10 Error in Device Manager. The IT guy at work said Code 10s are driver problems. The bottomline is the SBT-VT6306 didn't work for me. Now I wish I had bought the TerraTec Cameo 400 DV fire wire card. I'm sure that this will be the last time I ever buy anything from TigerDirect. Save yourself $23.95 (includes sales tax & P&H) and don't buy it. |

| Spent hours trying to get this to work. Windows Movie Maker 2.1 does not recognize that there is a video camera connected to this card. Of course the card came without a manual or drivers. Microsoft's Hardware Compatibility List states ''There is no compatibility data available for this device''. Will probably probably have to return this to TigerDirect if Sabrent is not able to help me solve this problem. |
