| The jury is still out on this product. Received with no mounting screws. The USB cord connected to the unit may have an problem. Connected once and was able to read media. After I unplugged and replugged the unit did not power. Had to get a tight seat on the cable to the unit to get to power up again. Might have to send back for replacement. Looks like it might have been a repackaged item that may have been returned once before. |

| I have two of these I ordered from Global. (one black and one silver) One is installed in a desktop tower floppy bay, the other is in the laptop bag. Both have performed exactly as expected in every flavor of Linux I use, both in the desktop and the HP laptop. (also from Global)
Great value for the money, and almost indestructible in the field. |

| No one has written a review on this product yet so I figured I would. I presonally do not own one but it is on my fathers computer and I use it regularly. I have never had any problems with it and I know it works and my dad installed it himself without any problems which is an achievement. The price is right for the product.. it works without any problems and its inexpensive. |

advantage is the fact that USB 2.0 is forward and backward compatible with
USB 1.1, which means that cables and connectors made for the original USB
configuration will also work perfectly in a USB 2.0 port, though some newer
devices are specifically designed for USB 2.0. It is always a good
idea to verify the version of USB supported by each device you want to use. |
