Yes indeed it does have extremely annoying recognition issues. Irritates the heck out of me. I also have an issue with movies starting to stutter about 20 minutes in. Sometimes I have no problems but more often than not a movie will become unwatchable. E8500 Duo, EVGA 780i, EVGA 8800GTS, 2G SLI memory. Should be able to play a movie. Seems I've read of 780i\Blu-Ray issues though so may not be the drive. When it plays it works great.

This is a good drive and again as ''noo'' mentioned, Drive has recognizing drops which i hate. This causes me to reboot when not recognized and again i hate it. But WOW the clarity on lcd is wonderful. Just wished it burned cd, dvd, etc for the price would of been 7 stars for me.

Easy install -- just plug in, install cyberlink software, download update from cyberlink and go to sony website to upgrade firmware.
However, system bios sometimes does not recognize drive. I've contacted evga but they have not come back with solution. Will contact sony as well.
cyberlink software only plays in 2.1. To get 5.1 (or 7.1) must pay for the upgrade.
If not for the bios glitch and cyberlink software (which is inferior to windows media center, but MCE doesnt play blu ray -- wish there was an add-on to windows media center to play blu ray), would give it 5 stars.
system: XFX 8600 GT (512 DDR3); evga 680i; intel 6320; 4gb ocz ddr2; vista ultimate 32bit.
