| This unit is supposed to be compatible with Winme.
It was not sent with any drivers or any paperwork other than the Packing slip. All I want is a driver so I can use this unit.
It registers only as a CD drive Not a Writer.
I can not get help from Liteon ( no response) and TigerDirect does not want to help either - Quote -

| Very pleased with the order received. Shipped in record time, could not believe that it was here that soon. Product was as advertized, had no problems installing with the instructions sent and I know very little about a computer, this is my first and probably my last for I am 75 years young. It does everything that my old unit did but a whole lot faster. It does make a little noise when reading but no more than my old one did so I figured that was normal. |

| First of all the person who only had it for one and a half hours, that's too bad. you got a defective CD burner.
For the other person You have to understand, when they say 52X, that is the speed it gets at the very END of the Burn. The speed increases as it burns more data because it is moving outward on the CD. This is standard measurement, If one could go 52X at the beginning of the burn it would be spinning so fast it would shatter the CD into bits.

| I've had this burner for over a year now and lets just say it's very good. It is loud while reading CD's but thats fine with me. The person that had his/her's for 1.5 hours and then died, it was probably a defected one. And that person saying it can't burn at 52x is bs. I've burnt so many cd's at 52x. It takes only 2 minutes to burn a whole 700MB with it. Mine burns at 52x and i'm using 48x cd's with this thing and it still burns at 52x. Either you people are just making up big bs or you have defected drive cause I know a few people who have this drive and are quite happy with it. They don't have problems like what you people are having, but the noise is loud with these drives tho. |
