This appears to be a very good modem for the price. It runs well under Windows but have not tried it with Kubuntu yet.

Picked it up on the recomendation of several customers in the store. Worked great for 3 months. the relay to the phone line is very intermittent. Causes the individual touch tones to double or drop, which misdials a lot. Also make the connection speed slower due to high TELCO loop resistance. High DATA transfer or memory usuage will make the modem drop. I often have to reconnect every couple of minutes.
It is a good cheap modem for light use.
NOT for intense applications. I wanted a $24.95 US Robotics but they were out of stock when I picked this one up. Wished I would have spent the extra plus shipping for all the grief it has caused me the last 6 months!!!

I purchased this to replace a blown out modem from a Dell Dimension C521 and had no problems getting it to load with windows xp. It is the easyest one I have ever gotten from anyone, I would reccomend this one for anyone who has had a modem die because of electrical storms.

Worst modem ever, runs at 14K in Vista x86, takes 5min to load Google. Tried 18 different drivers from Best Data because there is NO MODEL NUMBER! I had to figure it out by pictures. I got a driver from USR to work, eventually. Odd, huh?

Definetly not the best out there, but for the price its unbeatable. Will not work with 64-bit, but a lot of hardware suffers from this same affliction. Give it a shot, and if it works, great. If not, big woop. Only 8 bucks...
