| Do NOT buy this card!! While the supplied drivers can be coaxed into operating the card ''properly'', you will not be able to shut down your computer. This card appears to be a reference design built from MOSCHIP specs and the Masscool website will link there for the drivers. The problem appears to be that Masscool substitued one of the MOSCHIP IC's (the PCIE to PCI bridge) for a TI device, hence the card won't operate as MOSCHIP designed it. There is NO support from Masscool. I have to junk the card as it kinda makes my UPS a tad useless. Based on this experience, I will never again purchase the Masscool ''brand'' such as it is... |

| None of the drivers listed in the one-page manual were on the CD. I let Windows find drivers on the internet, and the card installed, but the keyboard would not work, and trying to shutdown the computer just put it in restart. Masscools (not toll free) telephone tech support said that they do not have the drivers, but that I must get them from the chip manufacturer (the tech rep was kind enough to send me the link). I uninstalled the old drivers and tried to install the new ones, but Windows (XP Pro SP2) gave an error message about failure to properly install. Removing the card restored the keyboard, computer, and shutdown to normal operation. There was no tech support to be found on the Masscool site for this card. The card was not worth all the hours I had to mess with it. It would be nice to have better documentation with the card, and the correct drivers. |
