Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme PCIe
Why settle for basic, built-in sound? Your music and movies deserve Xtreme Fidelity. Add the PCI Express® Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio sound card to your PC and turn your downloaded music into your own personal concert. Watch DVDs or downloaded videos with full cinematic surround sound. Plus experience 3D audio and EAX effects in games.
Revitalize your downloaded music and movies
Restore the details and vibrance your music and movies lost during compression. X-Fi technology intelligently enhances the highs and lows so you'll hear it all-crisp cymbal crashes, wailing guitar solos, screeching tires and booming explosions..
Surround sound from your stereo music and movies? Yes!
Expand your stereo music and movies into surround sound. Voices are centered in front of you. Ambient sound appears all around you... just like a live performance. Listen on a pair of desktop speakers or a full 5.1 speaker system.
Hear headphone surround that sounds like multichannel speakers
Slip on your headphones and X-Fi technology moves the sound away from your ears and into the space around you. You'll be surrounded by multiple virtual speakers and feel like you're sitting with your favorite band or in the best seat in the movie theater. Games sound better too with positional audio that's so accurate you can locate enemies by sound.
Enjoy realistic sound effects in games
Experience realistic sound effects and 3D surround that make you feel like you're actually in the game. Over 400 existing games use Creative EAX® sound effects to provide better gaming sound..

I didn't buy this form Tigerdirect, I should have, as I would have saved 10 bucks, Great PCI Express sound card for the money, but, Please note: that all X-FI cards of this type do not support the ''What U Hear'' only the older PCI cards all do....I was lucky to have an on-board REALTEK, so that I could patch this with a 1/8 '' Y-adapter into the on-board sounds imput jack, so, I could get the (STEREO MIX)same as the ''What U Hear'' so that I can now record Streaming Audio on the web, the drivers install right outta the box and were already updated, good sound card for PCI Express, too bad Creative removed the ''What U Hear'' for this line of sound card..........

Much trouble switching back and forth between editing programs and audio players. I have downloaded drivers but nothing seems to help. Noisy on my rig, with a nVidia 680i SLI Mobo, and 4GB DDR2. If you want a quality card do not buy this one.

Its an ok sound blaster. Just giving a heads up here. THIS IS NOT A GAMER CARD. It does not have SVM which the x-fi extreme gamer card has which makes u hear the footsteps better. It only has one mode which is called entertainment mode and thats it. It doesn't give u a fps boost in games either. Just buy it if u are looking for better bass and quality for ur sounds and music.

Value is horrible on this card. It's simply an X-Fi card for the price of an Xtreme Gamer edition. However X-Fi is supposed to be the best out there and according to reviews, it is. Full surround sound, this one has Optical in/out, etc. However to correct BOTH the DeC 29 and Luke (Feb 17), PCIX and PCI ARE backward compatable, but PCIX is NOT PCI Express, it is a similar bus, however not widely used. PCI Express is Serial, PCI and PCIX are Parallel.

Well if Creative wants to call this a X-FI card okay I guess. Its really nothing more than a audigy card reworked with the X-FI drivers. It is nice to have a Creative based card that actually has the SPDIF built into it but all in all not a very good card. Save your cash there's better out there.
