Virtualization™ (AMD-V™)
Hardware assisted AMD Virtualization™ and Direct Connect Architecture
provide a balanced approach to help improve virtualization performance,
enabling more virtual machines to run per server. AMD-V™ reduces overhead
by selectively intercepting instructions destined for guest environments.
Direct Connect Architecture helps guests run at near native speed. Virtualization-aware
integrated memory controller provides efficient isolation of virtual machine
memory.

Connect Architecture
Addresses and helps reduce the real challenges and bottlenecks of system
architectures. The Memory is directly connected to the CPU optimizing memory
performance, as well as the I /O, for more balanced throughput and I/O.
This allows more linear symmetrical multiprocessing by the CPU.

RDDR2 Memory Controller
Low latency for fast memory reads. Memory bandwidth scales as processors
are added. AMD Opteron™ processors with energy efficient RDDR2 memory

HyperTransport™
Technology
HyperTransport™ technology is a high performance, easy-to-implement system
interconnect technology originally invented by AMD. It is designed to increase
overall system performance by removing I/O bottlenecks, increasing bandwidth,
and reducing latency. HyperTransport technology implemented in the AMD Athlon™
64 FX processor enables a system bus to run at 1600MHz.
