Saw reviews claiming product did not load into XP and wanted to formatt ever disk. Had Same problem however troubleshooting revealed that disks had corrupt files and when new formatted disk were used drive worked well. Cable lenght is not a problem if the front USB port are used.

It seemed like the ideal solution for reading old storage. But, all it wants to do is format every floppy I put in it, including brand new ones. Then it says disc cannot be formatted. Useless!

Works well enough as a USB floppy drive with one exception:
This drive is NOT compatible with the Windows XP installation program and cannot be used for the F6 RAID driver install.
This is not an actual fault, it's just not in the list of supported plug and play devices on XP installation disks.

The cord is too short. Mine fell off desk and the cord pulled loose. I cannot find a schematic to show me where to re-solder the wires. No support of that kind for it.
