The WGX102 54 Mbps Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender allows users to have their wireless network originate form the middle of their home, or from the furthest extremity, with no visible cables. The WGX102 can be plugged into any electrical outlet to create an area of wireless access. The XE102 Wall-Plugged Ethernet Bridge connects to an existing wired or wireless router from any vendor.

| Very disappointing.
First, while my notebook does connect to this access point at 54Mbps, the transfer rate over the powerline is of only 14Mbps, giving me a max rate of 15KB/s. All of this while running my notebook off the battery... leading me to my next criticism.
Second (and most disturbing), when I plug the notebook into it's AC adapter, all communications cease. Took me a long and frustrating time to figure out this one!
Finally, this little box runs very hot, so after reading this, you still decide to buy it, make sure you can plug it away from anything that might light on fire.
Highly not recommended. |
