This Vector compact 200 watt power inverter is a great portable option for powering very small appliances. This compact, portable inverter offers 200 watts of continuous power with a peak usage of 400 watts. It is used for converting a vehicle's 12 volt DC to 110/120 volt household use. This inverter includes 12 volt DC power cord for low wattage use. It also includes battery clips and cable set.

This compact 200 watt power inverter The Vector Maxx SST Series Inverters are the most advanced DC to AC inverters available. They are configured with the latest Soft Start Technology (SST). Before the introduction of Soft Start, high startup currents from large inductive loads could shut down the inverter. Soft Start improves inverter operation. Three major features incorporated in SST include:
  • Gradual voltage ramp-up during inverter startup. This eliminates failed cold starts underload.
  • utput that momentarily dips in voltage and quickly recovers to allow large motorized loads to start. This eliminates almost all shutdowns from momentary overloads.
  • Automatic re-starts. The inverter automatically re-starts when an overload that causes inverter shutdown is removed. Previously, manual reset was required.

  • Buyers Guide

How big of an inverter will you need?

First you will have to determine the total wattage of the devices you want to operate. Check the nameplate or manual of your device. Once you know that, find an inverter that supplies at least that wattage constantly. An inverter has two ratings, a constant and peak rating. For example a 400w inverter will supply a constant supply of up to 400 watts but will deliver a peak of 800 watts. The peak voltage can't be sustained very long but it will allow extra power to start an electric motor or compressor.

If you know the amps of a device and need to convert that to watts, use this formula: Amps x Volts = Watts. For example, a 3 amp motor running on 110 volts AC would convert to 330 watts. You would need an inverter that supplies at least 330 watts constantly. Be sure to allow a slight variance just to be sure.
