Windows XP without the pain!
Windows XP Home edition with Service Pack 2 is the same Windows XP Home released three years ago, patched with Service Pack 2 applied, for better or for worse. The first thing that must be said is that you do NOT need to purchase Windows XP Home if...

Pros:
Greatest windows security ever, easy to use, lots of new features over older versions.
Cons:
Drains more system resources than old versions, may not really be needed.
Bottom Line:
If you're looking for an OS, this is a great one to use, but weigh whether you need it carefully.

To Window or not to Window?
My op is on the OEM version. ###Intro### Windows is probably the most successful operating systems, software that runs software, ever. Naturally, because of this most software is for Windows, but also most viruses/hackers are too. ###The...

Pros:
It's Windows, slightly more secure
Cons:
It's Windows, still insecure
Bottom Line:
Windows XP is good for a novice, but not so good for nerd. At least it's compatible with most software.

Windows XP
I have found that Windows XP is very useful. I like many things about it and have found my computer time much easier. I enjoy the fact that Windows XP does most of the work for you. You can navigate through things much easier and find things much...

Pros:
The fact that it seems to think for you and easy navigation to programs.
Cons:
No spreadsheet program built in. Only comes with a document program.

Gotta Love Windows XP
If I had the choice, I would choose XP over 98. It's better established and up-to-date. I love how it's so automated and you don't have to do everything manually. It warns you every time when something is not...

Pros:
It's so automatic.
Cons:
It's not one, if it is i haven't came upon it yet.

98 SE Was better.
I'm not sure why--the program is very intuitive--but I don't like it. Could it be because it freezes up at least once during each session? Whatever--the 2E of '98 worked better, and when my new Dell arrived with XP and I got the drift, I found myself...

Pros:
Intuitive
Cons:
Freezes a lot

Downgrading from XP Pro to XP Home
After finding out the hard way,(A local PC shop installing a counterfeit OS on my computer) I've discovered that it is nearly impossible to to change operating systems between the XP choices. 98 to XP and back can be done, NT to XP,etc. but not XP Pro to...

Pros:
A good running OS with many bells and whistles for office work
Cons:
Unable to transfer settings easily to/from XP Pro

Best OS I have used
This is by far the most user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, secure operating system I have used. I am pretty partial to Microsoft as far as OS go anyway, but this one is great. The ability to have multiple user accounts, great backgrounds, easy access to...

Pros:
Easy to use, attractive, user-friendly, secure
Cons:
There aren't really any that I have found

Windows XP Home--Can't live without it
Windows XP is by far the best OS on the market. With its sleak looks and top notch security, not to mention it's user friendly ...it beats other OS's hands down. However, there are some aspects to the OS that I think are just pointless. Upon...

Pros:
Sleak looks, tight security, easy to use
Cons:
Too many "windows updates".They're not major fixes either, just ones you wouldn't ever notice.

Best OS from Microsoft!
This is a decent upgrade if you are still running 98, ME, or 2000. Its real nice to look at, easy to use, and includes alot of built in features not available in previous versions of Windows. Of course its a Microsoft product so don't expect it to be...

Pros:
*Interface, ease of use.
Cons:
*Expensive.

An upgrade to XP from Windows 98
If you're having crashing problems with W98 like I was, I'd thoroughly recommend an immediate upgrade to XP. I needed an Office 2003 Pro upgrade as well. There is simply no downside to an upgrade. I'm in business and for years was too mean to shell out...

Pros:
Attractive interface, simply to use. Does not crash!
Cons:
None. None whatsoever.
