KitchenAid's NEW KTT340 Toaster in Cobalt Blue. The new design provides toasting consistency through reduced air flow through the toasting cavity. This is the way Bagels and Toast were meant to be enjoyed.
For a few months now I have been out in several stores checking and looking at several types and prices of toasters. The Oster 4 slice toaster that I have had for a few years now has not been working very well. It only browns on one side of the bread and...

Pros:
Extra wide slots, power cord storage, a warm button, and removable crumb tray.
Cons:
None
Bottom Line:
Toasts Bagels and breads evenly. Also great for just using the warm function for warming up English Muffins, Poptarts and Homemade breads without browning them.

I love this toaster - revised 10-29-05
As suggested, I'm adding a few more details to my original review. The bagel feature on this toaster allows you to toast only the cut (inside) side of the bagel without toasting the outside. The slots easily accommodate large bagels. The...

Pros:
Solid/heavy, toasts evenly, great bagel feature, warmer nice, crumb tray included.
Cons:
$50 price tag, but worth it.
Bottom Line:
Solid toaster that toasts evenly; especially on bagels: toasts the inside without burning the outside.

Not a very good toaster
Having tired of toasters that didn't do a very good job over the years, I decided to buy a more expensive one. Kind of figuring that 'you get what you pay for', I wasn't going to buy one under $40. While looking around, I came across this toaster at...

Pros:
Re-warming feature works OK.
Cons:
Doesn't toast evenly; doesn't toast consistently.
Bottom Line:
My final recommendation is don't buy this toaster. There must be better ones for less money.

GOOD Everyday Toaster
Updated April 26, 2006 My husband and I are big fans of Kitchen Aid products, especially hand held utensils, so I was excited to get this toaster for Christmas. I know, a toaster, BUT it was on my list, "a kitchen aid toaster". My husband...

Pros:
Warming setting, easy clean up
Cons:
Occasionally cooks uneven
Bottom Line:
Great toaster for everyday use! It looks good, cleans easily! It takes getting use to cooking a bagel, but in the end it's worth it.

KitchenAid KTT340 Toaster - Just Toast

Pros:
It works fairly well and is easy to use. Nice clean look. Wide slots.
Cons:
Does not always toast evenly. A little over priced.
Bottom Line:
If you can find one that works that is a little less expensive, I would try it out before spending the $50.00 for the KitchenAid.

Reliable, dependable, and makes great toast
I spent years in graduate school making do with a five-dollar toaster. After moving into my first home, I decided it was definitely worth the splurge to upgrade to a toaster worthy of my homemade breads. I was given a KitchenAid 2-Slice Toaster as a...

Pros:
Toasts evenly, bagels come out perfectly done
Cons:
Sometimes frozen breads require extra toasting, warming feature ineffective
Bottom Line:
A big step up from bargain-priced toasters, the KitchenAid does a great job with bagels and thickly-sliced breads

best home use toaster I've seen
I bought this toaster because I think the name says it all. It toasts bread well. The bagel feature is amazing. The warm feature is okay. Have been using this toaster for about a year now and love it. So happy I threw away my last $10.00 toaster...

Unsatisfactory, esp. for the price
I bought this toaster at Target for about $50.00 in Jan. 2005. It had the wide slots (2), cool to the touch exterior (white). I used it a number of times. It took forever to toast regular bread - both at room temperature and from frozen. Then when...

Pros:
Cool to touch exterior; styling (if you like modern).
Cons:
Uneven toasting; takes a long time to toast.

I really wanted to love this one...
